With my new flamethrower, the only tactic there is is to go prone and blast, and when it gets to me, stand up and blast, lol. Other then gettinga suit of armor (which im working on) anything u guys can think of to improve my chances of survival in a solo battle?

This is kind of a given, but take up novice medic and find some really sweet stim B's. The ones I have only require novice medic to use, have 40 charges, and something like 360 base heal...

Fight npcs that use rifles, or even carbines (though pistols will work, it is slower)

Open the fight with a blast from your flamethrower (no, not a special) and then switch to your launcher pistol when he switchs to melee and runs at you. Now dot himwith yourlauncher pistoland when he switchs back to his gun, switch back to your flamethrower. Keep on doing that until he dies.

Unless you think you can kill the npc in one hit, do not use your specials. well, if you are foolish enough not to be medic, then i guess there is no reason not to use specials since you can't heal yourself anyway.

Ido level 22 imp missions on talus at the outpost, i have 3 storm commandos and i have them out with me. When i get to a mission i find the sweetest of the rebels i can find and drop his ass with a HPBC in one shot, then sic the commandos on teh next guy, then the last guy will help his buddy by shooting the commandos, so i take him in abou 3-4 shots with the FT. Then i take the base. In 2 minutes i get 5k heavy weapons xp,about 80-100 factions point, and a whopping 4k for one easy ass mission.

lol only cuz u have faction pets with 8k-9k hams..*cough*

i do soloing the hard way, no pets, no medical skills

using Lp really does help, or bombarding with FT attack since it DOES do usually over 1k dmg (and having it shoot 1/3 faster than it should due to slice..helps)

yeah i know the faction petsare cheap, in fact i wouln'd use them if i didn't have too, but i don't have any of the special FT moves yet, and once i get those i should be able to do it w/o faction pets. I would ratehr not use them because then i woudl get even more xp and fps. but with out the pets and special moves the heavy weapons can't kill the rebs fast enough before they incap and kill me.

Doctor buffs.

After being properly buffed by a master doctor I have between 2500 and 3000 in Health and Action, and about 2500 or so in both of their support stats. It turns you into superman. Even if you do get shot, you regen so quickly that it hardly matters.

i can solo difficul rebel missions with only my flamethrower. and i dont have any armor on but my helmet and boots, but i also have novice med, and a good amount of the med skills. and i use the special shots and do just fine

Yup definitely kneel. I also noticed I hit more frequently when prone (even though the accuracy indicator gets worse.)
