As I have my character set up now he will end up having a good amount of pistoleer and smuggler pistol skills. I figured these would help with making the Launcher Pistol a more viable weapon, and that they would make it easy to get Heavy Weapons XP early on. But now I am hearing that LP might get its won tree? Would this mean my pistol special and modifiers no longer worked on it? If anyone could clear this up it would be great.

where did you hear it was getting its own tree?

it was proposed yes..........

and yes I wouldnt count onto being able to use the launcher with pistol specials forever...
