I just wanted to call attention to somthing. The changes that we want for our profession. It would seem to me that some people want the changes for PVP situation's. SWG was not disigned for PVP originally. In Star Wars do you see everybody and their Uncle dueling? No, I will admit that we do need changes, we only have one weapon that is worth using and the skill point costs is not equal to the benefits of the profession. I just wanted to be sure of some of our motivation for the changes.

Well PvP and duelling are not synonymous. PvP refers to any type of player versus player combat, ranging from duels to large scale battles. Unfortunately, the present system is setup that most of these large battles boil down to smaller duels and melees due to the lack of any tactical set up in the present system.

On the bright side, the new line of sight changes will help to correct some of this, and hopefully special spamming will be a thing of the past when the combat balance is introduced.

Too right....however we end up post combat balance, as a profession commandos should be right in the thick of the GCW...and at some point that's gotta mean PvP. A commando's main occupation in game surely shouldn't be running around torching the wildlife...maybe on RnR but not day in day out...

I just hope that the CB facilitates the kind of tactical engagements that make sense given the context...i.e. Star Wars

I agree with the both of you. In SWG there is the PVP elements due to the two faction's. The main reason for my post was to call into account "why" people want the changes. It's true that we shouldn't be taken out with a mind shot by and Chef while we are running on a battle field. Hopfully this can be a productive post for changes that need to happen when we are in battle situations, be it PVP of PVE, you know what I mean. Basically we are impotent when it comes to being able to do what we were originally designed to do....in my opinion. The definition of Commando does not fit the current abilities of our class.

Right now there is an imbalance in combat. Once the combat balance is implemented, players will experience a visceral change in the nature of combat and use of specials. More over, we are going to be adjusting the speed, accuarcy, damage and ap values across the board to bring things in line with what was originally intended by the game designers. As commandoes are the most combat oriented class in the game, they wil be most directly affected by this change.

Seriously, we really have to just wait and see for the combat balance. Pretty much they aren't going to fiddle with any of the combat classes too much before then, since anything they change now may have to be changed again in a month or two. I dont have a problem with this since I would rather have them spend that extra energy towards other fixes (line of sight) and new ideasfor the balance.

This balance better include a future refrence for some weapon changes, new or otherwise we only got one weapon that is effective. That is something that has really been bothering me.
