Thread: Commando vs Rifleman against a turret
Yupp. I mean, honestly, you used double amount of skill points. And after all his main prof could be a Tailor or chef. You dont think you can compare to someone with a Rifleman/ Chef template for tower killing now did you?
/sarcasmoff
I'm sorry, but i didn't spend all those sp on combat to be a support proffession, i.e. sit back and watch when the combat actually starts and watch the chef, tailor, au pair, or whatever go and get stuck in...
Even if we ignore common sense for a while...the raison d'etre for commandos in this game is base take downs...I find it hard to believe/take that the full extent of our role in this isreally s'posed to be flicking a couple of switches...
Sorry if this comes off as a flame...but hey...I play as a commando...that's all we're apparently good for ![]()

I do not see this as a flame bud..
Just a differing of opinion. In theme and desire, I agree with you. In practicality of a game and the overall scope of 33 professions on a set platform, I.E. Heat, kentic, energy, etc damages, I just feel it is impossible to find the candy we all would love to have, ALL professions that is..![]()
I once saw someone state, I do not have to respect your opinions, but I do respect your right to voice them..![]()
In this case, I respect both..

I understand that it is a team effort and that not one proffession can be all powerful, but DPS+accuracy is the name of the game. Our weapons, especially consumables, dont even come close to that of the other proffessions and cost about 1k per shot. You cant say that this is actually reasonable and does not need attention. I know pointing to another profession is not the right way to go about it, but we should at least be on par with another profession when something has a vulnerability to the type of weapon we are using. This is why people are upset, not because we are getting outdamaged. We are getting outdamaged by a weapon that is not the right damage type, doesnt cost 1k per shot, and is considerably faster and more accurate than our own.

But this one just doesn't bother me as much. Why? Simple. Taking a base down is a team effort, not an individual effort. Furthermore you do not get loot for a Turret, so your not getting "outdamaged" for loot rights. Also, Think about it. Commando DOES hit for more Dmg, just slower an less accurate than Rifle.

please never forget, we DO deal some damage..

I think the question is what are we supposed to be better at. Each profession should have a niche. The less SP it took to get Novice, the narrower that niche should be. Rifleman versus turret seems out of their niche and in ours. If you ever dare to complain about Commando ineffectiveness in PvP, the TKMs will rush to tell you how you can take out turrets faster than them, so they think it's our niche, too.
