For those who have not seen it yet, the devs just posted the changes that will be coming to the jedi system in publish 9, and a little bit about what will be changing in 10. What I thought was interesting was that players could buy perks by completing the jedi trials (the thing to open your slot I beleive)that would enhance your existing abilities, sort of like innate force sensitivity. I think that this, combined with the combat balance, could really help our profession and provide all players in general a way to make their characters seem less cookie cutter.

I think it will be great causse you will have FSenjhanced people who still have their original skills or even jedi that can retain some of the skills depending on how far they go along.

/sigh

I just dont know how far Ill take it on my main toon. FS fencer/pistoleer (already love it) could be super sweet but then again so would being a jedi.

I think the main reason they are going this route is so more people can have the opportunity of being FS without flooding the world with jedis. I hope it all works well.

No one will be able to retain their original skills, novice padawan or whatever its called costs 250 skills point and everything else in the tree costs none.

Are you talking about the current setup? Its all changing. You will be able to go all FS befor dropping skills and once you get 24 boxes of FS then you can go further but you have to start dropping skills.

Technohic is right, you will have people that have FS abilities along with their normal abilities. I know a lot of people will want to just be force sensitive so that theycan change their profession whenever they want instead of being locked in. It is a good idea.

Why are you worried about FS CM's? Imagine what a rebalanced (see patch 10) FS commando can do!

Not to mention that if you pick up some jedi on the side you could potentially use a lightsaber at melee range and weild a lighsaber with mandalorian armor. (Aha! So I can still follow my dream after all...)

from what i can gather this is exactly how it will be ...

Quote from :Jedi Archives Volume 2

A young Padawan should be able to stand on their own feet using skills from their previous profession in conjunction with their Force skill boxes, but remember you will still be generating visibility!

For example, a player can purchase a box of Crafting Sensitivity and gain a small bonus to crafting. This simulates their character being more in tune with the Force so they may have slightly better reflexes, insights, etc. All these skills are passive and do not generate "Jedi visibility".

also dont forget that jedi will be getting robes too not armour

I can see Bounty Hunters being happy about this. Lots of people to hunt.

they better make the Force sensitivity freaking hard to get...otherwise EVERYONE sooner or later will be running around with minor force powers...

OR make these bonuses more like skill tapes...where they wont be a deciding factor..just a small boost...and the higher you go, the more jedi-like you get..and more you're hunted

Anyways...i also hope that they make it where if you use armour, you cant use some force powers...like in KOTOR (makes sense as well) and that jedi robe better be good as well in defenses...!
