Thread: Flamethrower issue am I crazy?

I know, the golden rule here seems to be to not talk about problems with the torch, since its the only thing that works for us and claiming its broken might cause them to "fix it".

See I was a commando way back when - I started on it as soon as I qualified for it and I started playing SWG just after release. I left it to do hologrinding, then took a break from SWG for a short while. I came back a few months ago and took up commando again, and re-mastered that and tera kasi.

Thing is - am I crazy or did it used to be that the flame specials used to catch fire to the pool that you actually hit with the attack? I could have sworn when I was a commando the first time, if you hit the action or mind pool, that would be the one that'd get the flame dot. Of course now, if you hit action or mind, its still the health pool that catches on fire, which can seriously negate our damage. Did they change that while I was away maybe? Or was it always like that and I'm hallucinating?

Nope, always like that as far as I can remember.

Same here. As far as I recall, it has always been the health pool. Which if you really want to touch on something with the FT, why not mention that we have no pool specific attack except for the burn. Call me crazy but it would help our situation immenslel, and easily for the DEVs, to make our flame Specials only hit the health pool. Maybe I should mention this in Garvin's thread...

Yep, only has ever burned on the health pool.

There was a patch awhile back when they did the dot nerf that made it so that bleed attacks did damage on their intended dot pools.

Of course us commandos got the flame dot nerf, but never got the fix for hitting the correct ham pool. We just hit what ever random pool, guess we are supposed to swtich to a marksmen rifle/pistol/carbine to finish off the job with targeted ham specials there.

An annoying thing that has been happening on big hunts lately is "Ok, everyone target the mind pool..." so we can help out the riflemen....lol. Go figure.

There's a nice little thing where in places like the DWB, you can only kill the hard stuff with protracted fire from at least 6 riflemen if you actually want to make some progress. And it just so happens that because Area attacks are still bugged and cause things to aggro you from 64m away even if they're 6 rooms over, Riflemen are reduced to either Headshots, or their second highest Damage single attack, FlurryShot1. Good thinking there, SOE.
