My question speaks for itself. Everytime I'm on the commando boards all I see are topics about how bad this profession is. I'm commando 0020 and if it really does suck then i might as well try something else and not waste my time. So in the end, is there anything good about this profession?

It's fun to have all the fire and explosion effects.
Had the DOT not been nerfed, well, that would've been more fun to still be a commando.

Well. You are working on the flame tree. That is the good thing about this profession. Aside from that. . . .
Of course the Combat Balance will change everything, theoretically. Let me stress that "Theoretically" part. I've only heard lip service on it so far, nothing substantial other than delays.
Me? I'm a pessimist. An optimist is just some fool that doesn't have all the facts.

Uh....flamethro- no, wait. It sucks too.
On a positive note, looks like they are dropping some of the scout preqs for BH (Master Marks/Scout4000 now) so you can master commando, and grab some BH pistol to complement the Launcher Pistol (and get some real acid damage with the Scatter) and also grab the LLC tree.

The flamethrower and the ability to piss of the TKM's with the launcher pistol. That's it.

Here is the main problem with commando. (man I say this way too many times a day) We have 1 working tree. Period. A 0040 commando is just as good as a master. We have 1 weapon, 2 specials (unless you are stacking) and thats it.
Commando can be fun. Using some of the heavies for the first time is great. But the novelty wears off when you find out their only usefullness is to solo durnis.
