Thread: A good roleplaying experience!

Today I was playing SWG, and I like to roleplay my characters whenever possible, and today I had a really good experience.
It started while I was trying to find locked containers to buy for my novice smuggler. I got a tell from a player who said he had a couple he'd sell me cheap so I met up with him at the cantina in Mos Eisley. To my surprise he was an RPer too so we stayed in character and started talking about the Empire and how they were getting to pushy always stopping and searching us. While we were chatting another character who was an overt Imperial officer walked up to our table and told the player I was talking to to "come with me wookie".
At this point I didn't realize what was going on since this new player didn't have his RP tag on. We continued to chat and drink when the new player kept insisting that the Wookie go with him, he then stated that this whas an order from an Imperial officer. I now realized that the new player was RPing as well. It was at this point that I decided ( as a smuggler) to bid my new aquaintance farewell and good luck with the pushy Imp officer and leave (luckily I had my medic tag up).
So I leave the cantina and am standing outside about 20 meters from the entrance when the wookie and the Imp officer appeared. Now the wookie was asking why he needed to be taken to the Imp station for questioning and in general being resistive. This is when another overt Imp officer player walked up and asked the first if there was a problem. The first Imp stated that the wookie was resisting so the second actually summoned an Imperial trooper NPC (didn't know they could do that) and told the wookie if he didn't comply that he would have to use force.
The wookie then said "why are you hassleing an honest merchant when you could be going after the smuggler that was just here". This is when I thought "great, this nerf herder is going to rat me out", but he didn't. When the Imps asked which way the smuggler went the wookie said that I headed for the spaceport when actuallyI was standing 20 meters away, and if they huried they could catch me. So one Imp escorts the wookie and the other heads for the spaceport. I decide I am not going to push my luck andstick around so I jump on my swoop and head on out. Later the wookie sent me a message that he managed to get away, I thanked him for misdirecting them and we went our seperate ways.
Most days I play I don't get this kind of RP experience and today this was a 15 minute experience out of a 3 hour session, but this 15 minutes made my day. For those of you that have never tried RPing SWG I highly recommend it, we all complain about lack of content and broken professions, but IMHO if we all started RPing more we would all have alot more fun even as things are now.
Today I wasn't worried about "grinding" my profession; today I was, for a short time, playing SWG. I highly recommend it.

Ok.......Well you don't have "Commando' in your post so off with you or am going set you on fire

No I don't, however I do have a Commando and BH character as well as the smuggler. The point of the post was not profession related, that is whyI posted it in the forums of the other two professions I play. So flame away.

Haha! That was great. Nobody understands English on Kauri, much less RP's. :XI make up for lost SWG RP'ing in City of Heroes, I play the Server 'Virtue' the unofficial Roleplaying server. =D

That's pretty cool. I think my first and best rp on here came by accident; I was sitting in the cantina healing mind wounds when a gentlemen approached me, and offered to buy my services for a short while, as I looked like a tough guy. He hired me to simply escort him from point A to point B (maybe a thousand meter walk, if that). He said there had been increased Tusken activity in the area lately, and as a businessman, he was not equipped to defend himself from them.
Arriving at his destination unharmed, he paid me and apologized for having bothered me, since no Tusken had attacked. By this point I had gotten well into character and said simply "They're around...watching us, even now. Up there, in the mountains."
"H-how do you know?"
"I'm a merc/hunter. I've been in the field long enough to sense when I'm being watched. They'll probably attack the town tonight. You'd do well to travel fast and travel light, and avoid the mountain pass."
"Oh, this is not good, not at all. Do you have a speeder of your own to escort me further, then?"
"Yes, but it's in the shop in Eisley; got busted up pretty good. Just avoid the mountain pass, and you should be fine. Me, I'm going to head up there and see how many there are. If it's a large party, I'm hightailing it back here to warn the rest of town. If it's only a handful, I'll take care of them myself."
And that was pretty much it. I did see red dots on radar while in the mountains, dots that could have been Tuskens, but when I tried to target, the dots would vanish...

It's not so unusal to post this here btw.. i feel that the commando forum is one of the best for ideas and seeing what ppl think.. ALSO i have noticed that alot of commando RP.. after all it makes sence.. think about it.. why do we stay as commandos while we are so weak.. this is cos we love our proff and we are not just about having the UBER template.. I think this is the perfict canditate for a RPer... I also RP alot (altho we RP alot on infinity) can just the other day I served as a Merc in Role for a group of new rebs (two crafters and a medic) in clearing them a safe passage thought the Sennex cave (all three needed the badge ) so we was together for a while... got to talking about where they are from.. how they joined the rebellion, why they joined... all in role ( I told them of some old battles) the thing is... these guys not RP alot (they say) but even tho i didn't have the Helper tag or the RP tag on... they felt to ask me for help in a RP way "Master we are 3 new rebel recruits that need help from someone of your lvl of training" at first i though they needed training but as soon as i knew what they needed I went into role they went along with it.
Bascily, you'd be suprised who WILL RP and who just needs a little help... I think as commandos we can fill many RP roles (if not any PVP roles LOL )

Although it doesn't really belong here, that was an interesting post. Thanks for sharing.
