I have been speaking with other Correspondents regarding the FS Mod situation (Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Speed not working with our Heavy Weapons)...Turns out that it looks like reports are coming in that they aren't working with most if not all Ranged weapons...so we aren't alone here...
Also, I have heard rumors that, for some reason, FS Melee Accuracy and Melee Speed mods are working with our Heavy Weapons, but I haven't verified this (don't have a FS character)...This does not mean you should run out and take those 2 trees yet as this may be changed when they fix the FS Ranged mods...
On a side note, when the Sandbox goes live to test the Combat Revamp, I confirmed that we will be able to test FS mods and Jedi abilities with our Commando templates...
Anyway...as I find out more I'll keep you all informed...

Thanks for the heads up Garvin.
I tried last night with a new character and was surprised that on TC2-Ahazi that you couldn't get the FS mods. I wanted to test the ranged speed/accuracy mods. If the devs will allow that on the Sandbox, good. If the devs would put those mods as skills you could train on TC2-Ahazi right now, GREAT!

i don't have any free unlocks so it's going to take me a bit to do, but asap i'll get the melee speed line and see if it makes a difference.
(i was going to get all 4 branches anyway)

Shouldn't have all this been known during the TC2 Bria? That's what I'm asking. There were tons of people over there at the Village. And the PvP'ers can't be blamed. PvP/GCW was nerfed the following day.

Well...when I first was testing out the Jedi stuff (a long time back) I reported that FS Range mods didn't appear to work...I was told that it was a known issue at that time and not all the FS mods had been activated at that point (but then again, it was before Publish 9)...I had hoped they'd be fixed by now since I didn't get in on testing the Publish 10 stuff (to many business trips last month)...

My guess is most templates tested there were so close to the speed cap anyway that the lack of FS boost wasn't aparant. A plecebo effect, if you will—I have the skill, it must work. (And my apologies for not catching this on TC, but my melee toon was the glowy one, not my commando…and y'know, I still haven't even bothered to train the two tracks I unlocked—guess I'm just a crappy FS hehe

If you want to go a slightly different route without bothering with the ranged accuracy/speed lines in the mean-time, I'd recomend Repair mastery, myself. The skill is flat out awesome.

i have the melee speed mod on my TKM/commando and i use a 2.8 speed Flamethrower. I fire Flamesingle2 every 5 seconds, but im to lazy to actually calculate if the melee speed mods works

8 seconds with a 3.3 speed flamer. i'd say melee speed isn't working in that case.
it's not really possible, if the bonus is behaving like a 12 point SEA, that a combat profession wouldn't notice. (unless capped already).
10 points for rifleman means firing strafe2 at 2.8 seconds compared to 1 second and it's a world of difference.
