Thread: This is a Must Read
Through an encounter with an "old man" (specific conditions for the person to appear were not revealed, other than having to receive certain badges), you are then given crystals, which you must protect from mysterious Sith foes that attack you. You then eventually go to a new village called Aurilla to take on quests to advance your force sensitive professions.
The village is inhabited by force sensitive NPCs, who are continually attacked by Sith warriors bent on preventing the emergence of more Jedi. The enemies had a decent amount of HAM, but nothing as difficult as Nightsisters.
Dueling and PVPing will be a substantial portion of Jedi advancement--once players choose to become Jedi Knights, they lose their "mundane" professions and go up a Force Ranking tree. The Force ranking is determined by how many other Jedi you defeat, and players need to dethrone others to advance.
For better or for worse, Jedi have a safe haven (one for Light and Dark side) called a Jedi Enclave, where Jedi are safe from eager Bounty Hunters. Depending on your ranking as a Jedi the player will be able to access deeper into the enclave--though no specific perks of this is known.
Playing as a Jedi is a more flashy experience, with the ability to cast force armor on yourself or other protective benefits. In addition, Jedi can "spam" and pile a bunch of different attacks that stack on the opponent including dizziness, blind, intimidate, and weaken. Fighting against a small band of experienced non-Jedi still remains a challenge however, as a non-Jedi with well-placed defensive stacks can render an inexperienced PVPer helpless.
With the release of the Jump to Lightspeed expansion approaching, LucasArts has said that much discussions is currently underway surrounding the much-awaited combat rebalance--with one LucasArts spokesperson talking of the potential "nerfing" of powerful professions such as Teras Kasi and Commando.
Stay tuned for more Star Wars Galaxies info as it becomes available.

I actually addressed this about a week back in another Commando post...it's a COMPLETE LIE!!!!!
Those who know GamePro understand when I say they tend to occasionally have Tabloid articles (that's my personalopinion)...There is NO NERF to Commandos coming...let me repeat that NO NERF TO COMMANDOS!!!!!!!
What GamePro has failed to comprehend is that with the Revamp all of Combat is being changed...There are changes going in that could be interpreted as a NERF to ALL professions equally...they've basically taken that idea and, for shock value (which worked as they planned here) targetted it towards to professions to get readers to take notice...
Notice they covered their butts by saying "potential" and this is one of the first times I haven't seen an online mag identify their source, but just said it come from "one LucasArts spokesperson"...
Don't trust everything you read on these sites...my guess is that they are just making wild predictions to draw in readers...
Like I said in the previous post...certain aspects of the revamp may come across as NERFs to some, but when you look at the bigger picture, these changes effect ALL combat professions, so really, there isn't much effect there...what is effected is that professions will be geared towards "specializing"...each will have something they are best at...We will no longer think of our selves as 169pt Commandos, but rather 250pt Commandos...

Garvin, when is the summit information coming out?
Hopefully this week...some communities have reported that they were suppose to start coming out yesterday, but I haven't seen official confirmation of that (besides, with it being a US Holiday yesterday, I kind of doubted we'd see them then)...
Over in the Correspondent forum we are trying to get an officialdate they'll start posting...Personally I think the first drafts of the docs are ready to go into the In Concept forum, but it's not my call...The creator of the Docs might be working on a last minute revision before posting...It's been fairly quiet all morning...a little TOO quiet...LOL
Plus, gamepro is one of the most horrible haming magazines out there. Their PC section if pitiful.

Ahh...but in the past when they and other online game media sites have had negatives to post about a game, what have they done? 9 out of 10 times they've posted their sources name...Or at least posted some facts to back up those claims...I've been interviewed by the Media many times and I'm quite familiar how easily they can take a comment out of context (or just take a partial bit of a comment) and run with it to create "sensational" news that incites the reader enough to read more...

Not to incite a political debate here, but even big name newspapers such as The New York Times do this...in everything, from news, to world events, to even games...you must always read from a number of sources and have doubt until you uncover the truth.
