I am asking because I wondered if being a pistoleer/commando is useful or not?

the LP gives HW xp...but currently uses Pistol Mods and Specials...there are no HW mods or specials whatsoever for the LP

Pistol, and only pistol (although it is in the commando tree, we don't get any mods for it).

LP use Pistol speciaLs but gives you Heavy Weapons XP. I know some people recommend you pick up some of the Pistoleer Special before you grind Commando. Then start with the Lp till you get to Flame 3, then its BBQ time with the flamethrower.

Pistol skills. Which makes it worthwhile to get pistoleer at least until 0/0/4/0 commando.

d'uh! I'm late!

Yea pick up some pistol speed and accuracy mose for BH pistols (best ones for sp) or pick them up from pistoleer (uses less skill points, but the speed tree takes combat xp to learn ouch) I would recomend useing the Bh pistol tree, way better mods for sp, plus, the terrain negotiation help you in a pinch when you are still leveling up.

I'm late to the party.

Some Nuna driving one of our new Imperial Tanks tried to run me over. It was pretty cool if it wasn't so d**n scary.

Edit to add: Someone pointed out the practice of getting some Pistoleer before starting Commando. I want to add that Mastering Pistoleer and keeping that in hand with Master Commando is just as fine as any Commando template. You get almost everything pistol related (minus BH Pistols line) and maximize the Launcher Pistol.

... and it's my belief that Pistoleer will come out for the better also when the Combat Rebalance takes place.

hmmm, i like this gun...ALOT. I'm not even a commando so im not certified for it and I can take out chubas and nunas with it!
