I have a BIG question to ask everybody...here's the scoop...
Been playing all day today, working on Combat XP by only throwing grenades at lairs. Been throwing Imperial Detonators...here are the stats: 1031-2133, HAM: 154/154/66, range 12m, damage radius 4m.
Up until about 30 minutes ago, the tactic was working great -- I stand at IDEAL range (12m), huck the grenade, hit peace, wait for the new mobs to spawn, take them out, repeat. Aside from the HAM cost of throwing the grenade, I took NO damage.
I logged off about 30 minutes ago, downloaded the patch & started up again. This time when I used the exact same tactic, I incapacitated MYSELF when I threw the grenade. My health (1000) went from full to ZERO in a heartbeat & there I was, INCAPACITATED!!!
I tried it 3x at ideal range -- could've been a fluke, after all -- the exact same thing happened! Well, actually, I only lost 90% of my health the last 2x. Much better /sarcasm.
I tried it a fourth time at max range (-40 to hit)...I took no damage aside from the HAM cost.
My question: Is this a NEW nerf? Has anyone experienced the same problem? If it is a nerf then I'm completely amazed.... I'm also confused because the same tactic was working fine prior to the patch.
I know the grenades do AoE damage to mobs, but why would I -- the commando -- be stupid enough to stand WITHIN the blast radius of my OWN weapon!!!
Why have the ideal range be 12m if every time you use the weapon you incap yourself???!!!
If this is a nerf of an already questionable skill tree then I think this may be the last straw.
If it is a bug, THEN DEVS, PLEASE FIX IT IMMEDIATELY!!!

Why not use the grenades on mobs, I would get 2k combat xp per mob using just 1 proton grenade when I used to xp?

Well, when i use a nade on grouped up mobs, the tageted mob takes damage, and the others mobs show hits but take no damage, so that is borked, too. I stull use the FT, hope they can fix nades before i don't need the combat XP anymore.

That's because you throw like a girl ![]()
j/k of course...
I haven't heard of anyone having such lousy success. Actually, I have, but most of the times it's a new grenadeer who is just getting used to how grenades work and doesn't understand to not get close.

Well I realized for each enemy in the blast radius, the game rolls for a hit, including yourself. It must of been you kept on missing yourself, which is good, but after you hit yourself more often.
