I have finally joined the ranks of those who see making things go boom as an art form. My question is now what? Im considering mastering teras kasi and going up to dirty fighting 3 low blow to augment my commando abilities. This leaves zero room for any other skills. So what do you guys think is the best template imcluding master commando which I adamently refuse to drop. Let me know what you think. Good hunting all

I doubt your launcher pistol would be worth investing anything more into (ie getting smuggler skills) since you got all the mods to the Flame thrower. So I'd suggest heading into TKA to get some defensive mods from there.

But on the other hand that feign death skill in smuggler seems quite good, though I haven't used it myself.

I went the Master Commando/Master TKA route, and to tell you the truth I couldn't be happier. With just those 2 I am a big ball of whoop-tooshie! Especially in PvE, PvP its not so effective since you have to get close to do the damage, but most of the time if you are in a group you can work your way into your effective range.

The hardest part I found was what to do with those last 18 skill points Currently I have them in novice scout with explore 1. But I am toying with the idea of either novice medic and diag 1 or smuggler and working the dirty fighting tree. Decisions, decisions!

I'm currently facing the same question. I've been reading up on the boards and trying to make sense of the mitigation that will soon be going into effect. My initial idea was the same as yours, to go for TKM to compliment commando, but consider that commando will be getting melee mitigation soon. TK will also be getting melee mitigation soon, and I'm still not sure if they will stack or not. A lot of people are now recommending picking up some pistoleer skills, as they will give you specials for your launcher and pistoleers will be getting ranged damage mitigation.

Hopefully there is someone on the boards that knows with certainty whether mitigation is stackable. I definitely wish I had known before I ground out that 125k unarmed exp. There are some good threads on this topic though, just look around the boards and I'm sure you'll find some examples of interesting and useful templates. Good luck to you.

I am currently working towards Master Commando/Master TKA. I like this combofor PVE (which is what I do most of the time.), PVPis challengingsince to do any real damage I have to get in close but there are ways to it and stay alive at the same time (become best friends with a Combat Medic, hehehe).

I have vested my remaining points in medic. Personally I think that medic is the best choice, cause it has saved my rear more times that I can count! I may not keep TKA but as long as I am a Commando I will keep my Medic skills.

According to patch notes mitigation is not stackable, however according to lord paul you can have both mitigaions. It saddens me to as I have also been working the commando/tka route but in the end, you can be still quite powerful. I would say to me I wouldnt want to stack melee mitigators anyway for PvP sice we could be kited so there ranged would be an advantage. If you dont PvP and dont plan to then you could get away with just melee in PvE.

You could also think on getting Fencer defensive skill trees.

As melee class you get Center of Being, which is wonderful to prevent melee damage. Then get fencer defensive tree mods (particularly the dodge tree) which do stack with tka and commando mods (unlike mitigation).

'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Now you focus on your remaining skills...do you want to pump up your defenses? if so look at TKA...do you want to round out your character with ranged skills? Look at Pistoleer or Rifleman...do you want great anti-kiting tactics? Look at Smuggler...

Maybe you've already taken care of your secondary profession...if so, go kick some butt and get ready for 300K krayts next patch...

Have fun with it; see what you can Solo, keep going bigger and bigger; harder and harder, and see how long you last. Find groups and hunt Big-Game... Rancors, Krayt, Kimo's, etc. Try out a faction, raid a base, Commando's are required for one of the 5 Terminals to take it down. Still plenty to try out

Friend of mine has been Master commando for quite a while, he's been spending a lot of time
supplementing 2ndary skills like TKA for defense, and a little pistoleer for his launcher pistol.
He's also been accumulating mad Faction Points from missions, i think he's a Colonel now or something.

Go master something else. I am getting master commando prob in the next week or so, I intend to move on to pistoleer, then maybe smuggler, then maybe carbineer, etc and so on......I am going to keep moving on and dropping things to learn new stuff. If you don't it is pretty obvious by now the devs will not be adding content fast enough to hold people's attention after they master a single profession.
