Thread: Are We Getting Screwed on Armor?
Message Edited by Daker-Naritus on 10-05-2005 04:35 PM
your missing something. At least when it comes to mastery boxes. Dont really know bout earlier on though.
At mastery level of a profession. Your fully mitigated for that armor type (Save for some pre patch 20 armor that got sliced over current cap. For example I have some pre patch 20 armor that I sliced to 6800's and even at mastery I still have encumberance. But you cant make or slice armor like that anymore now anyway)
In every sence are you wrong.
So, in conclusion, nicely layed out post. However, play the game and actualy check armor and know What your talking about before saying armor is screwy

Don't fret though Daker, I think this was brought up once or twice when the CU was still new to the community, you just had a bit of a late start
My work was finihsed here before it started.
<reshackles self to the crafting station>
<envies commando alt who gets to blow stuff up all day>

Mitigations DO NOT STACK! The highest one goes.

Ok, before you flame me realize 3 things:
(1) You will notice that the title of the thread is "Are we getting screwed on armor?" and I later say "Am I missing something?" Both were questions, asking whether I was interpreting the numbers correctly...I was not saying armor is screwy, I was saying "help me understand this." All you had to say was no, they do not stack and are 100% mitigated at master. I would have said "Ahhhhhhh...Duh" and withdrawn the post.
(2) Before you start flaming me, please note who you are talking to... I have been a staple on this board since launch, and took a haitus from the game around the time of the CU for a couple of months because the developers suck and kept jacking us around. The CU is a BIG change, and I am still catching up on exactly how the new mechanics work.
I started bytesting weapons and templates (only to be disgusted) and have now rerolled a new commando character that I am playing from scratch so that I can understand the system better. I only recently got to the point where my rerolled commando can legitimately wear armor, and the system looked screwy (hence this thread).
(3) I had noticed that my Master Commando had no armor encumberance. I also noticed that the numbers did not add up to 100% in many instances. I cruised all over the Armorsmith forum and other CU threads to try to figure it out, and didn't see anything. The thing that spawned this thread is my in-game need to choose to (1) grind carbineer for battle armor, or (2) use assault armor before a dropped a million credits on a set.
I appreciate your "help" but please remember that I am still a month otr two behind some of you... If you call me a noob again I will attempt to light you on fire (attempt because the fire dot is broken), and then beat you to death over a period of 60 years with our 1 damage per shot AOE. ![]()

Just to be an annoyance....
I believe that Bio-Engineer gets only basic-level encumberence mitigation forRecon armor. Meaning they can wear it, but even at master they have encumberence.
So you can't really say all professions have full mitigation at master ![]()
