I'm not sure which tree is better, can someone give me feedback on the different trees and which would best suit an all ranged template?

I was thinking Heavy Beams for the General Ranged mods, but I am not sure.

Would the tree in Grenades be more useful?

It's like this, either stick it all the way in or don't stick it in at all. It's a waste of skill points if you don't go for Master.

If you don't already have a ranged KD, the grenades tree allows you to use imperial detonators which is a nice AOE ranged KD. It also has all of the defenses. Next best bet is the Beam Weapons line because it has those ranged acc mods, and the LBC is the best 4th tier weapon damage wise (with a 40m range, PuP'able, and compatible with ranged arms). The only problem is that it will fire slower since the Heavy Weapons speed/acc mods are in the other trees. So if you're really lacking in ranged accuracy, go with the Beam Weapons line. If you tank more, go for the nades. Other useful grenades are the glop and cryoban if you can get someone to craft you some good ones. That's another problem with grenades, getting weaponsmiths to make you some.
