Hi,

Here is the scenario. I'm on Lok taking on Kimo Hatchlings. I kill one, then I go to take on another. I pull out the flamethrower to see if I can land a DoT ( I have Flamethrower Specialization 1), it hits, but .......

He still doing loads of damage to me which is to be expected.

Here is the problem, after I do the special with the flamethrower I go to heal myself and it takes way too long and I got incapped and after I'm incapped it says that I can't heal while being incapped.

Is this how its suppose to work or did am I doing something wrong?

You can't do anything until after the weapon completes its cool down. About 10 seconds or so with a flamethrower special. What happened was that your heal was queued up to happen as soon as possible.

This is a special case with heavy weapons. There is a cooldown period (about 15 sec when you're novice and 8 sec when you're at Flame Spec IV) where you cannot do anything at all but run around.

You cannot heal during this time, nor can you even attack with a different weapon you have switched to. The best thing to do is to make sure you get their Health low enough before firing off the special.

Hmm.... I don't like how that works really. I can see not being able to use another weapon but using heal should be allowed. Maybe I'll post this on Q's thread for our profession.

This kind of ruins the DoT on flamethrower, what is the point of having a DoT if you can't use it till your target is already down on health.

I'll have to adopt a new startegy, I guess.

So, in effect you guys are saying (pve of course) to leave the specials as the "polishing" shot. Makes sense. I appreciate all the good info on this board for us up and comings. I appreciate you folks making it easier by giving us the benefit of your experience. Tanks! (haha pun intended, lame? so?)

Agro is really strongly influenced by proximity. If you can get someone between you and the mob in PvE our specials can be used right at the start.

Sorry Belce, I should have clarified for "solo" hunting. My mistake. I will remember your post for groups though since I have a non ch pet or two now.

your using Netscape Navigator right saul? For some reason the foum code doesnt like Netscape inputting any HTML code other than basic stuff like bold and italics, you just have to use IE if you want to put in hyperlinks, colour etc(I know its a pain, but thems the breaks).

actually no im using IE and the problem is not with my compuer at all......it is with these fourms.....

when i copy something from a word document and hit create/reply or w/e the box then becomes filled with redwriting in HTML and at the bigining of the red writing it says "you can't use HTML" (or something like that) andi can't submmit a post

When you reply to a message, there is a row of icons at the top of the text box. There is one that looks like a chat bubble with quote marks in it - this is the quote function.

To post HTML, I think you have to use the 'Edit as HTML' button on the reply screen. Some tags are not allowed at all, though, such as the IMG tag.

These are about the worst forums I've ever seen, though..... And I've seen a lot of forums.
