Thread: Need opinions on template...

I have been toying around with various ideas to get decent DPS using a carb or rifle while still keeping master commando and exploration IV. I finally gave up on Rifleman, as even though I loved it, I really need to have it mastered and no way to keep terrain negotiation +40 with MC/MR.The two ideas I have are as follows and any feedback on the pro's and con's would be appreciated:

1)Master Commando + BH carbs IV + Carbineer 2/0/0/4

AoE KD and AoE state effects for dizzy/KD, good ability for cover fire. AoE posture down as well. With the carbines I use, I would be speed capped.

2)Master Commando + BH 0/4/4/4

LLC for additional heavy weapons support. Decent DPS using a carbine and the BH pistol line for the LP, not to mention a scatter cert which I still have some good prenerf ones as well as some good prenerf LP's. Another thought on this template is that Torso shot can be stacked 3 times +bleedingshot (causes 3 seperate bleeds that either bleeds all 3 pools, or concentrates 2 on 1, or 3 on 1), healthshot1 and the flamer stacks. This DoT stacking might really be effective and may try it anyways just for kicks.

Keep in mind that this is Strictly PvE with a tank or three so I have no worry about defense. I am mainly looking at offensive output and adaptability while keeping high movement speed. Thanks for any feedback, as I am just horsing around trying various templates while I wait on the CURB.

well if it's for pve and you always have tanks then go for number two..

with your FT dots and torso shots you'll be able to take things down SUPER fast

Yeah that was my thinking, I really loved having the AoE KD from carbineer a while ago on another toon, but as far as dmg goes and speed of kills number two seems to be much more aggressive. If only the field tactics or heavy weapons supportline had terrain negotiation like the CM support tree does... I would do rifles hands down, but explore I is just not enough when you have to get up a hill in a hurry to get out of aggro range while your tanks taunt

on high end mobs you won't draw agro fast as you do nearly 0 damage with your ap0 FT

I go krayt hunting unbuffed with my mates....never get hit once if we do it right

hehe yeah that is a big bonus on elders etc... nice to see the burn tick but too bad we can't dent them until they are almost dead with the FT. I have had some luck with what you said by hanging in a krayt fight when buffs have dropped... just gotta really watch when the big bastage turns

You think it would be more viable to still do master rifleman with it though? Still could manage explore +20 terrain nego, but would take some getting used to on speed. Have to have scout to help out on harvesting as most of my guild fighters have smuggler templates without it or else are melee types stacking everything they can manage. I remeber the dmg I could dish out with a rifle, and still miss it. Just hate to do that as the last time I did it, I neglected almost all of my commando skills with the exception of an occasional proton, glop, or cryoban. I ended up leaning on a T21 a bit more than I liked.

I'm a master rifleman/commando. i have an 856 max pupped T21, I kill krayts almsot 2x as fast with a 901 max flamethrower, flame dots rule man.

The DoT's do def rock, too bad they don't count towards looting rights. Against a krayt the other night I had a TKM tanking and myself laying on burns from torsoshot and the flamer, plus bleeding shot, and healthshot1. Was kind of funny to see the race between the healthbar and the mind bar on who was attacking what.... needless to say no looting rights, but was nice to see the damage output.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I gave up on thinking last night and just hit space... looks like I have more thinking to do
