ok all the encounters i have had so far with players from the opsing faction always end up the same i get killed dead as hell before i can inflict any damage . Im not sure what im doing wrong ..i dont expect to win all the time and hell i dont care if i die all the time but i do want to make a good showing in a fight . 1 fight was with a swords man in composite( killed me easy with a mind hit ) the other was a TKM i was so dead i didnt even see his bar move down from him useing specials the other was a fencer who was buffed and wearing composite with 30% stun layers and 84% kenitic rest the other fights i had were before bleed nerf so i use to make a decent showing . Now with that siad heres the question i need advice on what weapon do you use now that stun layers and high rest kentic rest armor are so common ? use a vibro balde ? my stun baton and gaffi just are not cutting it .
by the way im a master fencer master medic i have both composite armor and ubeese i have tried using both armors and using no amror always ends the same :-( i hardly scratch them and i end up dead as hell .

Ok I'ma MC/TKM/Novice Medic. I've got a pretty decent FT (2.6/928).
I just don't have a lot of PvP experience at all. With this template I don't expect to rule the PvP world but I think I could do better with some advice on how to make these two professions work to my advantage instead of usually getting so thoroughly whacked.

stack all 4 DoTs then go unarmed and go crazy
or you can try dizzy knockdown then pull out the thrower and go to town.

My problem with the MCommando/TKM template is there are very little state defenses. You only have +5 Defense vs. Dizzy and +25 Defense vs. Knockdown, which makes you relatively easy to knock down, and once you're kd, you'll have a hard time getting up. The first step would be to get the essential foods for your template (ithorian mist, thakitillo, snow cake, synthsteak, brandy, etc). As you PvP more, you'll be able to adjust your diet(lol) according to your battle needs. You'll also want some 40%stun/70%+base armor and possibly some high base PSGs.
Your first tactic in battle is to intimidate your target (this lowers his defenses/dmg output), and then try to dizzy/kd him. Professions that are easy to dizzy/kd would be doc, cm, rifleman, tkm, carbineer, bh, commando. If you can get one of these on his back, then it's time to whip out your flamethrower and light em up with all four specials (you'll hit harder if he's kd). You probably won't be able to dizzy/kd a brawler stacker, so don't spend too much time trying. With stackers I normally intimidate, try to kd a few times, then put all four flames on him as quickly as possible. Once he's on fire, you'll want to switch back to your vk to tank.

Yes, if you start doing some defence stacking you can become a decent PvPer.
HoweverI refuse to become a Defence Stacker I will master the proffesions thatI start to learn!!
I will sit and go group hunting big game, and mabe some group PvP (me hiding in the middle of a bunch of people while doing flame area 2s and grenades and such
) Until the curb comes.
Help us Opiwan-CURBobi your our only hope..............

Thanks for all the advice.
I think I might give that a try Bloodmonk. I've been kinda bored lately. I've spent most of my time since JTL came out in space and have done everything I can there.
I'm trying to learn more about PvP on the ground but I'm a slow learner when it comes to templates, tactics, macros. Especially since I usually go down so quick that I don't even have time to realize what I did wrong.
I wouldn't mind dropping a few skills and grinding out a few others as it would give me something to work on. I'm not really interested in Jedi. Partly because of the intense grind and partly because I just don't like seeing so many on the server and it just doesn't jive with the current timeline the game is supposedly set in. But I also understand that if you really want to be uber in the PvP world, Jedi is a sure ticket.

Ok I'm about 2/3s the way to 0040 pistoleer. I decided that I'm going to try something just a little bit different. Instead of 4310 TK, I'm gonna try 4410 and keep uakd2. As far as Medic goes, with 0030 that gives about +30 medicine use. Now according to my info from a Master Medic, StimCs require +35 unless they tune them down to +30. Also StimCs in general are harder to find than StimBs. So I have decided to try 2100 Medic. That gives me an extra +30 in injury treatment, extra +30 to treatment speed, and /firstaid to stop bleeding. That would completely max out my skill points.
It seems to me that such a template would be a nice balance of defense vs. offense.
I guess my next questions about pvp are about actual combat. Do successful pvpers rely heavily on special macros? In general what makes someone a good pvper?
