Since all NS (I believe) are 100% resistant to electricity and heat, what do you use for hunting them? Acid? Beam rifles?? Thx.

tkm / comm is pretty terrible at hunting elders solo.

the dot will tick and kill the elder though

Yep, against pretty much all NS, the Flame DOT does more damage than the other Commando weapons. MComm/TKM was my NS hunting template back in the day. Like 15 months ago - they were tougher then 'cause you couldn't get a mind buff for love nor money and armour was 54% base max I looted some "killer" NS Layers and got some awesome gloves made up. 70% Base! Crazy!

Just like some others have said it's all about the flamedots for taking down elders as a Commando. I was just on a pretty successful NS hunting trip this weekend. There were about3TKMs, a Pikeman,aSwordsman/stacker, and myself aCommando/TKM. Ijust let them all tank andIputall my dots on the elder with 4 different flamethrowers, she went down in no time

Wetook down about 4 or 5 Elders like this until one spawned witha stun batonand killed all the tanks, whodidn't have any stun protection.I was wearing stun layered armor and a 47% base imp psg with an ADK on it though so I was able to keep fighting her solo. I would stick 2 dots on the Elder with my high dmg flamethrower then switch to my VKs while they the dots were ticking. I was very surprised how well I was doing against her solo. That was until my chestplate which was in bad shape before the hunt even started (about 5000/5000 condition) broke and the Elder proceeded to whoop my furry behind in short order I still managed to bring the elder down to about 1/3 health left before I died, all from the flamedots as a VK does nothing to an elder ( 100% kin resists ).

I think it might be physically possible for a Master Commando/TKM who is very well outfitted and prepared to solo an elder, but I wouldn't recommend trying it (it's a whole let easier to just let the pure melee guys tank while you sit at range). Just get a few melee stacker tanks with stun armorand sit back and dot those Elders.

Only part of commando I use when NS hunting is stacking burns... preferably with a tank. If there is no tank, I know I am not gonna be able to take much of a beating, so it is lay on a couple burns until I start taking it rough... then /burst and switch to my T21... kite until they drop or you blindly run into a late spawn of more sisters while kiting due to lag

In other words, not much for commando besides the burn is useful really, but BH pistols or Master Pistoleer can be handy with the LP if you have a tank that can hold on for a while because of it's low AP rating. When I had the BH pistol line, I think a TKM/Pistoleer/Smuggler template guildie had to tank an elder for close to 25mins while I used only a LP (could have stacked burns with the flamer, but wanted to see how long it would take with the LP only... was a 365ish prenerf lp) and he unequipped VK's and just tried to KD the entire time.

Best thing is to take a tank, lay on the burns, and switch to an alternate combat skill to be honest...
