There have been rumours floating about for the past few weeks. Guess it's official now, although not from the mouth of SOE. Guess IGN always scoop them

Before I became enlighted about a couple things, I once believed that...But I, ahem, overheard a few things that rapidly changed my mind.
Good touche' btw! LOL

Gordon Walton: Community management is still in its infancy in my view. Communicating clearly and consistently with players, measuring their satisfaction and gathering their aggregated feedback still all have room for improvement.
That quote stuck out to me in the interview, as well as the one about Western MMORPG's chasing WoW....

The other MMOs will chase War Crafts success because blizzard did what they feared to do. That was give the players an environment to apply their class/professions to. Their quest system forcibly drags players accross the world with their exp/rewards. Combined with a very restrictive specific, but extremely versatilecombat system WarCraft as a game has put the "smack down" on the MMO industry.
For that I am very happy sice the compitition will have to match it or better it to survive. No more of thses generic combat systems like the one SWG has.
