So how many of you Commando's are acting like real commando's and feeling usefull with your weapons in Republic Commando?

No sissy acid rifles or nerfed grenades. . . .

I might have found something to keep me occupied until the CURB aka vaporware comes out.

Sound off like ya got a pair!

The game from what I've read is far too short and linear. Still, I'm willing to give it a try. Clonetroopers are a good thing.

I was reading around about some people trying to figure a Stormtrooper or Storm Commando mod for Republic Commando already. THAT would be cool, in my Imperial-biased opinion.

I for one am dissapointed. I bought it last night and played both the single player game and went on-line and did the multiplayer. The singleplayer levels I did were fun, nothing earthshattering, but fun. Commanding the different troopers to do certain task was challenging and made for a more tactical approach to defeating each level. Were the game really should've been good, but it completely falls on its face, is the multiplayer aspect. The Multiplayer levels are completely lacking in atmosphere, not so much in looks, but sound. I can't hear footsteps like I can in Counter Strike, or shots off in the distance. The variety of guns is lacking, leaving you limited in the ways you can go after your enemy. If you're looking for a great multiplayer Star Wars game I would suggest that you keep playing Battlefront and leave this game on the shelf.

An additional slap in the SWG Commando face was in the opening mission you get dropped on Geonosis, at the start of the CLone Wars, and you encounter a Clonetrooper which says, "The Commandos are here, they'll win this war singlehanded" Sure would be nice wouldn't it.

No doubt in my mind, the Commando needs a rewamp bad.. but this is a tale told over and over for over a year.. The Commandos need a remake, rewamp.. re-invent..

Just by giving us some more defences and an assault rifle would help alot..

Look at any branch of service.. any country that uses the Term Commando... these are close to special forces.. knowledge in numerous light and heavy weapons... DEADLY for all that dare engage them...

We need a rewamp!!! *CRY*

Maybe its just me.. being to stuborn to retire my career... but the others dont seem that fun .. and Ive played just about all..

Liked Swordsman and TKM.. still got TKM... Rifleman rocks.. but that DXR6-B should have been Commandos..

Gah!!

While i can't say that I've played the Mulitplayer part yet...I totally disagree with your statement of "leave it on the shelf" I've had a lot of fun playing so far (I'm in the second act)

RC is a great single player game, and battlefront is a great multiplayer game.

The NGE is a decent start. Now lets bring the rest of the worlds up to par with Tatooine and Mustafar

I said, "if you're looking for a great multiplayer game . . .to leave it on the shelf". I was hoping for more of a Counter Strike like game for Multiplayer, yet set in the SW galaxy. I thought the single player game itself is solid. Yes, I know if I want CS, I should play CS, but I love Star Wars and had high hopes for the multiplayer aspect of Republic Commando.

I got it yesterday, played for half an hour before going to the pub, then finished it today. It is a little short at 9 hours, but pretty addictive. I'd love to see the game mechanics recycled and expanded to a post-Ep4 setting. Hopefully with a more inventive title than "New Republic Commando"

Yeah, it is a bit short, but fun non the less. Most fun moments I had was when I met those trandos with that minigun and he promptly took out the rest of your group so it was you vs him. And yeah, hope they make more of this.

I picked up Republic Commando earlier tonight, finally...

HOLY HELL!

Why can't SOE make us like those commandos?

Giveus some kind of commando-only-certed assault armor, an assault rifle/carbine of some sort, and give each Master Commando 3 commando NPCs to follow him around and blow the crap out of everything that moves!

***Eclipse - Ryushidosha, freelancer; Scaley Master Carbineer, ranger, merc for hire, and general sociopath...that despises the NGE.
***StarSider - Ja'ahn Woo [PYRO] of the Alliance - The Galaxy's first Jawa commando/carbineer...who also hates the NGE.

People like me...because I force them to...with violence!

I was hoping the multi-player to be more Haloistic, it's the best multi-play game I have ever played myself...

Yeah this game is incredible, my new favorite FPS.
The only two downsides I found to it,
1.) The game is too short, I beat it in less than 12 hours of play.

2.) The multiplayer is awful, I can't get anyone to play with me, they say "lets just play Halo2 instead"

Otherwise this game rox my sox.

I definetly feel that the SWG commandos need a DC-17 added to our weapon certs.
That and specially certed armor.
HooRah!
