That's how long it took Jedi Jedis crying for a nerf on Stopping shot to get the Devs to cave in and start looking at adjusting it. At 12:19 PM on 5/24 Thunderheart posted the Tuesday tip of the day which was about using stopping shot. Almost immediately a debate started about whether stopping shot was overpowered but because it concerned only Joe Average, the non-Jedi,TH assured us, in post 19 that, :

Stopping Shot does not break when damage is done.


Although you shouldn't be able to "perma-root" someone one on one. There is a timer to prevent that, though there are combinations that can makerecovering from the rootdifficult.


Now in a multi-player PvP situation, it is entirely possible for four pistoleers to "chain-root" a single opponent in combat, but hopefully that person brought along friends


In other words everything is working as planned, everybody go have fun in SWG. But then things quickly deteriorated into a Jedi vs Bounty Hunter discussion as Jedi cried that multiple BH could paralyze Jedi if they worked together. The clamor became so great that TH finally reversed his quote I just posted and, in post 233, says:



Going forward, the first and most important thing to consider is the timer associated with the root. There is a timer that is should act as a limiter. It is being looked at now, before any other alternative.


So, first stopping shot was so good it was the Tuesday tip, then it it was working just fine when a few non-Jedi complained but the eventual avalanche of Jedi whining now has Devs "looking at it" because, heaven forbid anything should be any inconvenience to Jedi at all. Well you know what, we've been broken from day one, not 24 hours not 24 days but 24 freaking monthsand asking to befixed soinstead of bending over backwards to kiss the Jedi's asses how about youDevs ignore the Jedi for one day put the Devsnow looking atnerfing everyone non-Jediback on the taskofFIXING COMMANDO NOW.

I agree. Nades should be fixed. The damage they do is pitiful.

We need our AoE fixed.

If they are gonna keep the 180+ sec reuse timer on grenade type (note: not cool-down), make them 1-2k in damage and the effects stay more then 5 sec.
Cool-down after throwing a grenade should not set ALL abilities with it's own cool-down time. When using an ability, you get a generic cool-down, maybe 10%, on all other abilities.

We want some form of inate armor break at master, either as a generic passive skill, or better per weapon where the AoE could be regulated as not to offbalance them.

Easier crafting of some low lvl weapons (read: RL).

Advanced version of some weapons, mainly RL and LP.


Anything else?

Ohh, yeah, forgot. More recoveries then just KD.

Well one thing to remember, theres a specific timer involved that only allies you to root a PvE target every 30 seconds per player, and a PvP target once every 30 seconds once.

Its one of the many things that are currently broken, and since roots are the bane of all meleer's and since the Devs want to fix this timer before thinking of ways to counter the root, they're looking at it.

Now, I wish they would do that for issues that prevent a profession from achieving its role...but its not like they suddenly stopped and turned 360 degrees due to jedi/bh arguments. Maybe just 80 degrees
