Thread: Heavy Weapon Speed Question

I have been doing some testing with heavy weapon speed and found either there is a cap on Speed Mod itself or it may be the cap on the weapon. I will be doing some testing with RL and Acid Rifles today. But was wondering if anyone else had found that this be the case.

I have a Plasma Flame Thrower and at a certain point I can not get modified speed below 1.59

I put on my two armor peicesthat has an extra +30 HW Speed and no change.

I have around +40 HW Speed on at 1.59 but anything over that doesn't do anything.

I'll have to test with some other HWs to see.

Can anyone shed some light on this??

There's a cap of +25 for attachments. Anything above +25 for a mod won't do anything but suck up slots. I know on my char I have close to +60 in heavy weapon speed. The modded dps on my gun doesn't budge until I start to drop the final 25 points of speed.

Compare it to a pistol, even now with your non-pistol mods and you'll notice a big difference in weapon speed. I think each weapon type has a hard cap on speed but its hard to prove in the new system. Thus the +25 HW Speed and +25 GRanged Seas I have will continue to decorate my armor.

Well ... when I first started buying SEAs ... I didn't think there was a limit anymore. Now that there is ... I might end up selling some of my AAs..

Should I hold on to all of my +15s and 25s? or do you think it is just a waste?

Hold them and put them on your next armor (since armor does go boom occasionaly )

Having respecced to MCommando/MBH, and 2 boxxes away from finishing my smuggler 1/-/-/3 template (lots of General Ranged Speed (GRS)to stack w/hvy weapons) I was wondering if it was possible to reach the speed cap without SEAs? Between the GRS of MBH, and novice Smuggler, and the GRS/hvy weapon speed from commando, I have alot of hvy weapon speed. Is it still worth searching for a +25 GRS or Hvy weapon speed SEA or should I be near enough of a speed cap to not make it worth worrying about?
