are there any other weapons that drop from him besides the rifle for commando?

After more than 30 kills I feel confident in saying that the proton rifle is the only thing commando specific that drops from Necrosis. I have only seen it once, in all this time. It does not work. At all. This is only one of our great problems. We need help, and it doesnt look like we are going to get it.
