So does anyone have this temp. or have any input on it?

Just wondering if this any good to anyone.

No Good


Ranged and Melee don't really mix anymore.


Commando as it stands is more of a certification profession which you need another (ranged)profession with the specials to compliment it. Changes are on the horizon.


with double xp, you could easily create a character and get novice commando in a few hours. (with nothing else, and give it a test drive because you won't get specials from novice to master, just a dmg increase which wont help you unless you have a nice dmg special, Also all commando weapons have "radius" dmg, so you'll have to becareful where you're .)

That happens to be the exact template I'm going for right now. Your commandoness won't be as effective if you had another ranged proff to compliment it but with that template, you make a pretty good tank. If you want to use your commando weapons with COB that isdoable as wel. Simply add in a couple lines in your COB macro to unequip your weapon, start up COB, then re-equip your weapon (comes in handy, let me tell you).TKM has great defenses so if you want to tank, it's less sp intensive then BH (since you'll have commando), and you never have to visit a doc again, ever.On top of that, you get decint heals. I don't think it's enough to ensure your survival but they will add a good bit of time to your survival time and survival time is what's important for a tank.


So in reality, it's not that it's not good, it's just that it's not best. Commando under the current combat system mixes best with other ranged proffs.

Now Im really confused, why not go TKM/4000CM/Master Doc if you want to tank?


I've only seen a non-jedi tank survive when a SquadLeader/Doc was around, though maybe we're talking about tanking in different terms.

Commando has the best Area Taunt in the game IMO as all of our weapons are AOE. It also allows us to state entire crowds with our weapons (although not too reliably.) The thing to remember as a Tank is that you're not there to do damage, you're supposed to use states to reduce the damage of those attacking you and to improve your mitigation. Oddly enough, I think MCommando/MBH makes a great tank as DS and CoB stack very well. Add the ability to blind and stun/dizzy with Eye Shot and Confusion Shot and you are very tough. The only thing missing is decent healing as you won't have many SP left for healing. Also, Critical Shot will help in pulling aggro off of someone.

You're right, that would be a better tank template then Mcommando/TKM/4000CM but, I'm working on my toon for Vode Inya (the commando guild). Also, I never said my template would be the best. In fact, I said it wouldn't be best. It's still good though.

CM commando as a tank rocks man.


aoe attacks, aoe heals, plus cob


I have tanked up to 6 level 82 pikets as a CM 4/3/2/3 commando 1/1/1/1. you can get agroe and keep it with you heals. plus heals and cob keep you alive. I would go at pistols or rifles for specials to go with you commano weapons. (get a line with the specials you like best)
