Im writting to ask how many other people use heavy weapons for PvP.

Once the ranged guy starts kiting around my commando or TK skills I unload a rocket on him. I hit...probably 65% of the time, I guess it depends who Im shooting at and thier mods ( like pistoleers with +dodge+) and generally a hit with a rocket means a quick trip to the cloning center. I know these consumables are expensive but they are a lot of fun to light people up with them. Of course, I PvP a lot and usually get hate tells from rebels becuase I killed them in one shot, and its " not fair ". I tell them they should feel flattered. That rocket I just fired cost me 7K

anyways.. I know pointless post, but I cant get online right now so Im bored....

I've used the heavy particle beam to kill about 20ish rebels since I mastered a few days ago. Works VERY nicely. Composite has nothing on it

HPBC doesn't hit as often as the rocket launcher does. your rocket launcher accuracy mods are higher than any other heavy support weapon, so i tend to use that more.

i also did a test on a master pistoleer friend of mine. the HPBC, ASL, LBC all missed more than they hit, with my friend dodging most of the blasts. same with proton grenades, glop grenades, thermal and imperial detonators. the rocketl launcher, however, hit consistantly.

Ahhh!

This sounds like good news.

I am currently mastering commando asmy new PVP class.

I have an unlimited budget and plan on spamming rockets until the end of time

Seriously... what is up w/ this current generation of commandos and their infatuation with the HPBC....

IT IS CRAP!

Look at the damned accuracy modifiers on it then look at the rocket launcher's.... please.... tell me which you would feel safer at master commando at 48-64m using.

Give me a break.

Current generation?

I have a master commando for a loooooooong time now. Started it before the big "fix" patch when a luancher pistol was your best friend. In fact I have trained at least 3 or 4 other master commandos on my server ( and there are not too many of them ). Any commando who knows his profession KNOWS that a RL has better speed and accuracy mods at master, but the HPBC is not "crap". And besides, I merely stated it is fun to use and yes it one shot kills and is fairly accurate. Geez, since when did we become such snobs on the commando boards and dissing other peoples opinions.

Yeah, I love using heavy weapons in PvP. Most people think they are safe because I can't use a flame special at range. *evil grin*

yea next generation? excuse me, but i was lvling commando at the start of LAUNCH, mastered it, and stayed on my master throne for like 5 months now..and i still say the HPBC is the best hvy weapon--why? it may notn have the extra accuracy mods..but its a hell lot cheaper:

i pay generally 9-11k for a good HPBC..lowest for ive seen is 30k...for its damage, its very economical-since its also our 2nd only weapon which has heavy AP!

As I'm starting to PvP a lot more these days I plan on working the hw's into my strat a bit more but at the moment my tactics consist of using my rocket launcher for one purpose. Dismounting fleeing rebs from their shiny new bikes . Nothin brings a reb to a quick stop and sudden confusion like blasting his bike out from under him when he thinks he just blew past me and is out of range. Generally they are so confused they don't react fast enough to defend themselves after being dismounted so they end an easy kill.

For large scale pvp i dont use the heavy weapons much. I would if their radius damage was fixed though. Too expensive to waste on a running target (read: miss) unless its a rocket, in which case its really expensive and i tend to save those for atsts.

But there are times when that imperial or l33t kiddie just *deserve* a rocket up the nose.

In dathomir I once got a tka guy challenging everybody to duels and feeding his ego because the 'rules' he had was that the duel had to start less than 20m away 'Its unfair for you to kite me' he said ( w t f ?) .

He was getting really annoying trash talking and stuff, so when he came around to me, I accepted and he's at 15m, turns red... and I drop him in one shot (he had no armor).

After he's incap, I kept distance 'cause i know tkasi force of will (i was master tkasi and master commando back then). He gets up, fire dot ticks again, hes down. Not wanting him to get massive burns I DB'd him.

He comes out of cloning, meditates the wounds off (guess i shouldve let him burn a bit more) and begins to whine that using the flamethrower was cheating yada yada yada.

*sigh*

I take him up to another duel, with the new rule 'no flamethrower'.

He comes close, kd+dizzy, and used the acid rifle single2 on him as he's on the floor. He incaps.

He gets up and as you can guess, whines about the acid rifle AND the knockdowntoo (which was hilarious).

So I take up on another duel AGAIN. I was about to just hit him with teras kasi and give the poor sob a 50-50 chance in a duel he so obviously had rules to let him win in.. when the rocket launcher in my toolbar cought my attention. SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM POW.

He's down again.

ended up in a last duel using tkasi moves to beat him up. even then he kept whining about me cheating or being unfair this or that.

From all the times i beat him, I remember the rocket the fondest. It was so nice to see him just erupt in a giant fireball as he ran to me from just 10m.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Starnick - your server must have the worst economy then... I get a crate of 7 rocketlaunchers ( high quality as well ) for 50-60k each - becomming friends with a master ws helps too as one of my friends recently gave me 8 free crates of RLs.
