i am a novice commando (2-2-4-0) on my way to master. and i just heard that i would get an xp bonus by having a droid called. is this true? and which droid is best for this? finally does anyone have any hints or tips for combat w/ droid?

I was a Master Commando and I have the perfect method for you.

1. Goto Rori

2. Goto mission terminal and get 2 Torton missions, keep looking they're there.

3. Group with a low level droid or mount

4. Rinse and repeat

On the torton's just keep using flamesingle2 , its perfect, they give like 3k xp per kill. I leveled so fast using this method. Plus its fast and steady.

rori has got to be the best planet for leveling any combat skills, u can also get missions for leviasqualls, they only give 1800xp but i have never been hit by a single one yet and ive done about 20 missions for them, i was able to kite them with no scouting skills at all, they are that slow

The XP bonus for a droid is the same regardless of what kind it is. So you can even use a mouse droid for this. Just group with it and then tell it to stay and go hunting. XP bonus is around 20-25% more.

So these Torton missions are available without a high group level?

I have a hard time leveling solo. I usually do dragonets on Tatooine with my friends, because they're 3k a kill and pretty easy, but I can't get the missions without at least two people in my group, or one CH with big pets.

equip yer flamer and search their in the mission terminal hiding. No group required

Tattered tortons-weak easy 1 shot kills good for 1k xp

Shallow Tortons-Bigger challenge here and they group aggro but only spawn 2 at a time few hits with flame 1 or flame 2 and you get 19000 xp per mission completed

Ravenous tortons-Will aggro you immediatly whether you shoot or not but good for 2-3k xp per.

That and the mission pay out is anywhere from 3k-6k depending on the type in 1 night a ran up to FT4 and had 60k in the bank. I'm sooo close to master I can taste it.
