The problem is that after JTL is fininshed they will begin work on the next expansion, probably adding new planets and space sectors in. Without the efforts of the vocal majority on these forums the fixes and updates would not be taking place
For the most part Id say this is untrue...as after JTL, there realy isn't much for new expansions except for content too much for publishes. However the devs have said that updates such as new Planets, may come in the form of free publishes...but getting back on topic...they have also said they're going to be requiring around 90% of their entire team (JTL team included) for the GCW/Combat Revamp...this for us is equalivent as another expansion as its such a huge publish.
And finally...thats why they even have a forum, even though Haden belittled us to a point on that gameinformer interview, without the forums...SWG most likely would be dead by now...
Edit: Also...the reason why I post this, is because a heck alot of us are angry at the devs...saying fix ground and whatnot, and only a few saying its a better thing (for the sake of getting it done right)...but now I truely believe not only will it help the devs getting it right, but JTL will serve as a launchpad to propel the GCW/PvP again...

Expansions keep the game name on the shelves, plus bring in additional revenue. Expansions are not nessary to keep the main game working. that's why I believe that new planets and/or space sectors will be added. In addition, new species and professions can be added in. Plus many more ideas we have NOT thought of but those in charge have.
The game was pushed before fixes were put in that were found in beta testing. changes to modify, improve, or whatever continue to try and fix the ground game. The major complaints from the core players, along with E-Mails to game mags, have pushed the DEVs to fix the main game now. I don't think that would have happened without the input of very vocal players. A PvP/GCW interaction with space was probablly more of a marketing tool than a thought out approach for the game since a majority of players DO NOT want to PvP. Just check out the smuggler revamp.
- Huge Publish of multiple planets/sectors (ie too large to download)
- Content that will further progress the timeline (key to future expansions, as Galaxies is an ongoing series of games...and what better way to introduce the next two movies and then possibly the EU with expansions?)
Those are my ideas for new expansions, similar to yours....but im not saying there WONT be new expansions. What I said about expansions is short term, not long term and is based on other player's and dev's POV's.

and why am I currently paying to have less than 100% of a team working on the game I have purchased and already pay for monthly?
