Technically it is not a bug. Flamethrowers are considered a ranged weapon, meaning it is treated like any other ranged weapon. (such as pistols and rifles) Combine this with our delay time and it doesnt look pretty. Best bet against jedi if you want to use it, eat some snow.

Melee winds up working best against Jedi really...but if you have someone tanking you can help out with the good ol' flamer.

The issue isn't them BLOCKING the attack, the issue is the combat log stating you do 0 points of damage, or they block your 0 points of damage hit.

well at least thats the issue I always run into.

try thermal detonators/proton grenades ( slice them )

they work like poisons/diseases i hear so jedi dont block them

I heard that Flamethrowers Flame attack. Even if its Block leaves its DoT in effects. Has anyone tested this to be true???

I think that if the special hits a player, even if no damage is done the DoT has an effect. So, yes.

Actually Flamethrowes if im not mistaken were one considered melee weapons, at least in beta and such. thats why specials have like a certain range on them etc

I'm pretty sure they are now considered ranged. Hence people saying that Jedi can magically "block" fire.

it was changed to a ranged weapon a little while back. As far as the DOTs still landing even if the opponent is missed, I have heard mixed results. The most recent ones were that it does not leave a DOT on the jedi even if it was only missed and not blocked.
