Thread: You know what I found out is fun to do?

Like I posted earlier this week I am fairly new to the Commando prof. I am trying to earn my first box in FT so I am basically running around blasting everything I see while running missions out of
C-Net.First of all I love the Flame Thrower and Launcer Pistol. Since I do not have any Specials (except for pistol specials)I can attack normally while riding my lesser dewback. Well doyou now all of those AFK'ers that hang outside C-Net around the meatlump spawns? Well last night I rodearound the outskirts of the cityblasting everythingI saw with my launcer pistol for about an hour.The XP wasn't great but it wasn't too bad either. I really got a kick out the noobs runningaway from the blast because they thoughtI was shooting at them. I even got a tell from someone asking why I was attacking them.Anywaythat is my story. I even finished a few missions onthe back of my mount. You may want to try it out sometime for kicks. I think I have found the SWG version of a tank.

I actually saw someone use a LP last night. The effects looked better than what I remember them to be.

I was using one last night on a Nightsister raid—between the rocket launcher, launcher pistol, and detonation droid I was making lots of pretty graphics (cost me about 25K in consumables, but it was worth it for the fun factor…besides, that's about 5 minutes of "work" on Dantooine setting Mokk on fire, so who cares?

a guildy of mine has BH 0040 and novice Commando so he can use the Launcher Pistol... The Launcher Pistol is just plain sick with the BH specials in my opinion... now if only they just gave us some Commando only specials/mods for the launcher

I have heard from multiple sources that is it one of the best PvP pistols out there if you have some Pistoleet or BH skills on your template. I have never tried it but whatever.

ok, lets just say that the LP will get a tree all to its own, or atleast get a tree labled "assault weapons" which will include our LP and Assault Weapon (Carbine, rifle, what ever you want)
That means there would be 8 total trees that a pistol gets.
you have your marksman pistol tree, then of course the 4 trees in pistoleer, the tree in smuggler, the tree in bounty hunter, and then if this happend, the tree in commando. you can get almost all of them except 1 tree (you get like 1 box in one of the professions) this would also give you all the pistols in the game.
All this (that is if this "assault weapons" tree i came up with doesn't have any pistol mods)
Pistol accuracy: 155
Pistol accuracy while standing: 15
Pistol accuracy while moving: 30
Pistol Aiming: 16
Pistol speed: 129
Specials: 18 currently, with lets say 4 more for the commando tree, making pistol users having a grand total of 22 specials, making them have the MOST specials and highest mods in the game
Personally I hate pistols, of any sort. and much rather use a carbine

I have to agree with Restrick a little. Even though right now the LP is only viable with a dabbling template, I would like to keep it relatively that way. Personally I would rather the DEVs give us a new tree for some type of assault weapon (or maybe even the E-Web 
) than work on specials and such for the LP. It is very low priority on my list, but maybe the community thinks different.

Launcher pistol is always fun for scaring the newbies. I was hunting with my guild on Rori when I was just starting out as a commando, and pulled out my LP to see how effective it was. We were hunting tortons, and it was dark out...but it wasn't dark for long. I lit up the area with all the explosions I was causing, and one of my guild mates exclaimed "It's World War 3!!!".
If the LP got commando-only specials, I think I'd use it alot more, rather than just when I want to make my own fireworks.

The LP is a lot of fun to use, but you really stink with it if you only have commando, for obvious reasons.

The launcher pistol has to be one of the funnest weapons in the game. Last week a few guildies purchased launcher pistols and we went to the coronet starport. We all dueled each other, 5 or 6 of us. That was fun for a few minutes... then out came the pets. So now we're riding around on banthas and cu-pas shooting at each other with launcher pistols (BOOM BOOM BOOM etc...) We then moved to the catina. Everybody left their pets outside and we went inside and started shooting at each other. After a couple more minutes somebody went outside and shot at the pets. The pets came in, so now it was like 6 of us in the coronet catina shooting at banthas and cu-pas with launcher pistols. After the pets died I started hitting everybody with eyeshot with my LP (I was the only one certified for it, and my spider fang LP powers up to 450dmg). Well that pissed off a couple people so out came the stun batons and pikes. I pulled my flamer and setpeople on fire before getting triple-capped due to a poison/disease combo. In all it was probably the most fun I have ever had in the game. I got a couple screenies, but it's hard to tell what was happening.

LOL that sounds great! To bad you firework display was probably wasted on AFK Entertainers. Actually that would probably make a funny screenshot of Armagedon going on in the background while people are dancing like nothing is happening.
