Thread: A simple question that should not violate the NDA
Also, getting actual information would be a violation of the NDA. Anything that is not already in print, is an NDA violation when it pertains to things in a beta, and what I have just posted, is about all you will get, and that is just common practice, not my personal involvement in beta, because Im not in it.

Garvin or the sandbox testers just wondering if they are planning on automtically recaculating all the weapons/armor in game to the new numbers or will they become unuseable and we have to get new ones or will they remain as they are and we will have a tone of "pre-CU" equipment. Just wondering whats going to happen to my weapons that I have spent millions on.
Hard to answer...I've heard rumblings of what they will be doing and to reveal that would currently violate the NDA...but I will say that the CU will effect every combat special, weapon and armor in game...Don't take that to mean that your uber armor or weapon will get a big NERF via the CU...that's not what I mean...the Devs could "grandfather" all pre-CU items and make the CU effect only post-CU crafted/looted items (and for that matter, for all we know, post-CU items might just turn out better then pre-CU items)...All I do know is that it would be silly to spend months "balancing" the game only to leave in elements that hurt the new balance created...
The be truthful, without violating the NDA, I believe the Devs will only focus attention (post CU) on weapons and armor that go above and beyond what they see as "extreme cases"...For example...a friend just gave me a set of 100% base protection composite Gloves (as far as I know, the only set of 100% gloves on my sever). Something like that will likely be effected since Armor was never meant to reach that high in protection. And there are some weapons out there (a few Legenary ones come to mind) that will likely gain some attention...but nothing is set in stone...and as far as I've heard, the devs don't plan on taking anything away without giving back (of course this is not guarenteed)...what I mean by that is, if they feel they need to "fix" something that is over-powered, they'll likely "compensate" in some other way...For example (and this is NOT a CU hint), I would guess that if they feel the need to reduce the damage level on a weapon, they'll in turn reduce the speed to compensate, or severly reduce the HAM costs...etc...
Hopefully in January we will hear more about how the current game and current ingame items will be effected by the CU...There are some big changes planned and most Sandbox testers are pushing to get that information out...
So how am I playing in the current game knowing what I know? I'm still playing the same way, buying the same types of items, and still looking for the best gear (no matter the cost)...In otherwords, it's to early to worry about your armor, weapons, etc...
