Thread: are we gonna be nerfed cause of those jedi grinders?

hi i was just wondering if commandos r gonna be nerfed cuase of the jedi grinders.......i was thinking if they can just remove the grenades giving combat xp and make it give heavy weapon xp but dont nerf commandos.....they r already slow and less accurate.....

Currently I haven't heard of any planned NERF...


The problem with coverting the XP type of Grenades is the fact that Commandos cost more Combat XP then every other profession (when looking at Novice Beginner to Master Elite/Hybrid)...This isn't really noticable when you grind straight to Master Commandos without grinding other profession trees at the same time (or just Commando Dabblers)...Our grenades were configured to give us that Combat XP boost on purpose...


The other issue to factor is is that our Heavy Weapon XP per kill is capp'd at 3.5K where as many other Elite Combat professions are capp'd at 5K, so we have a slower rate of XP collection.


Combine all that with all the other Grenade issues, and you can see why just changing or NERF'ing grenades will not work...


To change Grenades from Combat to Heavy Weapon XP the devs would need to remove at least 15K XP from our Combat XP requirement which in turn mean that 150K of XP would need to be removed from our Heavy Weapon requirement to match...At the same time they would need to increase our cap from 3.5 to 5K to make things better balanced...so we'd cost less XP then before, but earn XP at a faster rate...I don't think the Devs would go for that...


The key comes down to "what hurts one profession for the benefit of all others" or "what hurts all professions, but makes them all equal"...Hurting grenades hurts Commandos and in turn, thanks to our cap, puts us at a disadvantage to other combat professions when it comes to the FS XP exchange rate system...but removing Combat XP from the FS Exchange rate systemhurts everyone equally (except that Commandos will still have a lower XP cap per kill, but that's something we are currently trying to get changed)...


So in reality...if the Devs nerf anything, I strongly believe it will be the FS exchange rate and not our Grenades...And they'll only make that NERF if they feel people are complaining to much...so anyone who wants to keep Combat XP as Exchangable within the FS system should try and curb the complaints...The least NERF they would make is to reduce the Combat XP exchange rate down to the same % as other XP rates...The most would be to completely remove Combat XP from the exchange rate system.

Hey Im all for less xp req and faster xp gainage! hehe...


Im also all for FS xp nerf...make those jedi wannabe's grind more!
