Smugglers work well, since you only have 4 more pre-reqs (business I-IV).Armor or weaponsmithing are nice too.

Commando has all the prereqs for Smuggler as is. Don't need Business I-IV. Not sure where you saw that.

People are still using the Prima guide for some reason. A hard copy for an online game has one use, making tables level, but people still insist on using them.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish MetalHead.

For PvE you can't beat commando and ch.

For PvP your best bet would be to go commando, smuggler and tka.

If you have a more specific goal in mind, post it and I will try to be more specific.

I want to be great in pvp, however at the same time, strong enough to make money.

If you want to go total offense:

Master Commado

Master Marksman

Novice brawler (unarmed 4 required for commando)

Novice Scout (just for terrain nav 4)

Rifleman 4/0/0/0

This leaves a few points leftover to put in to rifleman, or take Carbineer for the Elite Carbine. Or any other way you see fit to spend the last points. But with this template, no matter what, you have the right weapon, and skill to use it, no matter the situation. Also, you have the ability to use weapons that do every type of damage but stun, and use them well. And you not only can use the T21 with its armor piecing ability, but use it well.

All in all, if you want to be a pure damage machine, this is a nice template, the only downside, between my inv and droids, I have over 23 weapons stored, with 15 of them hotkeyed. And its a bear trying to remember the damage type of each weapon.

Smuggler Prereqs Business 1-4 is listed in the instruction book. It was changed but the book wasn't.

Opps about my last post, I forgot to mention, I have 5 Probots with medium armor, 40% resist. They have seen me through many a level 40 mission on Dath which i did solo (at 13k cash each, not a bad haul)

There are many ways you can go. If you want good offensive power with excellent PvP defenses and abilities you can go (not showing pre-req's):

Commando 0040

Pistoleer 0004

Carbineer 0004

Rifleman 0004

TKA 0444

Novice Medic 0000

Great defensive template +40 combat equilibrium, +10 vs blind, +5 vs dizzy, +30 vs knockdown, +20 vs posture change, +15 vs stun, +62 melee defense, +47 ranged defense, +42 unarmed toughness. Great bleeds and DoTs for stacking, nearly every light weapon cert in the game, and you can heal yourself. It leaves you with 1 skill point left over so if you wanted you could drop one tree and become a pretty wicked TKM. Oh, and the reason pistol, rifle, and carbine are all 0004 is because it takes combat exp and you can get that using a ton of different methods and could even do them all with your flamethrower if you choose.

Personally, I will be working toward TKM + Master Commando only.

Bounty Hunters are some of the best PVPers around. But my personal choice (as I just finished dropping BH) is:

Commando- 0-0-4-0 (Unless they fix the HAR, then I'd consider going Master Commando)

Smuggler - 0-0-4-0 (For Feign Death)

CH - 3-2-0-0 (For my Graul Tank)

Medic - 3-0-3-0 (Healing with Stim-Cs)

While perhaps not the most deadly PVP set-up, it's been a pretty devastating PVE one. However, with Panic Shot and Low-Blow... you have a pretty nasty PVP Combination. It all depends on what you're striving for in PVP. Big Damage? Best Defense? If you're seeking a PVP template, look to the Bounty Hunters... it's what they're designed to be best at, dropping Humanoids.

SWG is like smoking... every patch gets you that much closer to quitting.
