With all due respect, and without being negative:

You cannot be great at PvP , being a commando, at the present moment. Commando's are holding their breath, and praying to any higher being they can think of to see if they will look down from the heavens and once agian smile upon us. For some reason the gods have been displeased with us. We have not accepted what their messangers have come to anounce to us, and for that we have been stipped of our dignity.

Will we one day be back in the graces of these beings? We are still waiting to see. . .

For PvP, hide in a house and wait for them to come to you, then gank them as they run through the door, and hope that you don't miss and/or they're unarmered/unbuffed. Alternatively have someone/thing act as a distraction and sneak up on them, then charge, albeit that can be hard. If you can KD then flame them it works fairly well too, but once again, it's severely limited in capability if they're armored/buffed.

i am master TKA and master commando and i do quite well unbuffed against even well armored and buffed enemies. commando and TKA compliment each other very well.....but for it to work you need to b master in each....it actually gives some nice melee and ranged defence and some great offense.....dont b afraid of the ROCKETS!!!! they r your friend

I use a level 52 gurrcat as a distraction. Anyways, we are PvE gods. If you want to be a PvP god, go get the same tkm/fencer template as everyone else.

When it comes to PvP, good buffs and good armor are more important than what combat profession you have. This is especialy true with commando though. Before I had good composite armor I would go down very easily. Now I very rarely go down in group PvP. I have also been infights where it was 1 on 6 and come out on top, mainly due to armor, buffs, anda little stratagy.

4-0-0-0 Brawler is a requirment for commando that most people overlook as just a skillpoint sink. Letme tell you a little secret, intimidate andwarcry are a commandos best friends. Intimidate helps you get through your opponents defenses, very helpfull with the inaccurate flamethrower. Warcry1 delays your opponent for 10 seconds. Use warcry before you use a flame special and it delays them until you can get off another warcry and flame special.

I had alot of fun PvPing last night. A group of about 15 were taking a base. When someone would come within 30m of the base I would rush them and useintimidate/warcry/flamesingle2. I must have taken out 30 people doing this. And just for the record we would have taken the base if it wasn't for the covert reset/ corpse reset exploiting that happened 6 times.

Good tips. Do you need to unequip (go unarmed) your weapon before using the brawler specials?

Nope, you can intimidate and warcry with your flamethrower equiped. I have an Intimidate/warcry1/flamesingle2 macro on my toolbar.

Very good points. Glad you brought that up. Thanks for reminding me about these.

That macro is easy.

/intimidate1

/warcry1

/flamesingle2

Since the macro will work on anything you have targeted, this will do it. Now, here's a weird question:

If you have the flamethrower equipped, will your special move cost for the intimidate and warcry be higher than they would be with it unequipped? If so, you could always drop it using this above and below the above macro...

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

where xx is the slot you keep the flamer in.

Making sense? Or am I offbase about the cost of these moves with the flamer equipped?
