Thread: DEVs Why waste 2 weeks testing? Hotfix now
not hotfixing isn't sooo bad. of course two weeks is kind of annoying, but still.
if they hotfix commandos, then every other profession will want to be hotfixed, even the ones that don't need it. now, i'd like to see the pistoleers get their spinning dual-wieldable holsters (i know you don't wield the holsters but it sounds better this way) but i don't want to see them get it in a hotfix! even though commandos deserve and need a hotfix, no one else will see it as fair after it happens, even if they say they wouldn't mind right now. i think this is the most important reason. i bet the devs know we need a hotfix and want to give it to us, but the other professions are whiney and annoying enough as is.
also, if they spend 2 weeks getting it right, we won't have to worry about them slapping on a nerf 6 hours after the changes go live. well, that might still happen, but we'll have a good arguement against it.
IMO, just be happy that they finally realised that, despite working as intended, what was intended was totally off the freakin' wall.
A Hotfix would be nice... true.... BUT there are always more problems with hotfixes and a hot fix that would pretty much overhaul our profession would have problems i'm almost 100% sure of it and they would probably be big... then we'd have a few days till they realize the FULL extent of the problems... then we'd have a day or two till they attempt another hotfix to fix the problems.... and this might not fix them all... then what do you know... before too long of this its been two weeks and everything could have been released smoothly... i'm all for getting us fixed right away but.... i really see the merit in waiting another week... maybe i'm just a more patent person than you.... but i'm not saying i'll wait around forever.... i already quit commadno once.... and i'm paying for it now by getting unarmed again and the 40K combat exp
but thats the price i guess...

Hotfixing us wouldn't be any different of a test then testing on the test center. How many Commandos are on the TC? Probably not very many. How many Master Weaponsmiths are on the TC? Probably even less then commandos. So these changes won't get tested in those 2 weeks. So hotfixing would actually be testing these changes.
They are fixing us.
Even gave an estimated ETA.
I'll take what I can get.
**edit** if they go.,. you guys aint getting a fix unless you wait 3 months.. ill happily wait those 3 months, as long as we know its coming.. we can wait..
agreed Ivoni
I think the real concern, for me anyway, is that the two week wait may be in vain. Honestly, I have no faith that the live update will be even remotely adequate or that they truely understand what's wrong in the first place.
Having just returned from a night of lagging out my group with a launcher pistol and periodically spritzing a Snorbel with an acid single special from my top notch, sliced acid rifle, I find it hard to believe that they'll actually do what's necessary to make heavy weapons worth using at all. The acid single has a max range of approximately 15m, and my best hit of the night was around 900. Followed by a 12-15 second cycle time to do anything else. During this time, the Snorbel, having noticed that I'm 12m in front of him, closes the gap with a trunk swing, annihilating me with a nice 3x melee vs. rifle bonus.
Are they willing to do what's necessary? Are they willing to increase the damage x4 or x5, or remove the insane delay after a style and increase the damage x2 or x3? And let's not forget the range penalties.
Basically, the profession is so fundamentally flawed, I find it hard to believe they'll magically fix in two weeks what it took them years of development to flub.
Yep... now that i'm back i'm not leaving again... i'm gonna be a commando even if they change my HAR into a SuperSoaker! I'll at least have a bad ass Super Soaker that shoots dirty green water ![]()
