After you get your Unarmed Combat IV, and your Master Marksmen, you got to get that annoying 40,000 combat exp. I have about 17k but that was all the work from unarmed combat and getting to master marksmen. Anyone have any suggestions on what to kill solo?

Well, as far as lvling combat xp is concerned, I focused on Langlatches -planet Lok- ( even though they arent slow anymore, they can still be defeated with little effort ) these things net around 70-80 combat depending on the type, another choice is to fight Squalls on Rori, these give much less combat xp ( 30-40 ) however, they are very slow, and wont be able to dmg you as long as you keep moving.

This is only what I did, theres no real "secret" for gaining combat xp, just ALOT of time and patiance.

good luck

Work on your second elite profession, if it is combat that is. I went TKA, cause you already have to get unarmed master, anywho, i got novice tka and balance condiitoning I before i got enough combat XP for novice commando.

I did kill quite a few things to get combat xp after getting both Master Unarmed and Master Marksman, but mostly Gurnasets on Lok.

I also did alot of sightseeing and tried taking on different MOBS on all the different planets which was kinda cool too and kept me busy to avoid getting lonely.

For me, I tried to go for something that;
1) wasn't too tough, but not too easy either.
2) I could solo without getting incapped
3) had decent xp
4) wouldn't attack in groups

follow target -> berserk1 -> attack -> watch and heal if needed.

After a fight, I would harvest, camp, rest, heal myself, make stims and wound packs as fast as I could and continue on.

I did get Novice TKA before getting Novice Commando because of the new VibroKnuckles cert - which ended up being a GREAT thing to do.
After hitting Novice TKA, my average damage using VK's was pretty much the same as an average hit using Berserk1 with Master Unarmed. I didn't expect the VK's to be that effective, so I was very happy.

If you need the money to support your travels, do droid missions on Lok with a few buddies for fast cash. 16K a mission and you only need a few people to easily finish a mission in a matter of minutes.

Just have fun and enjoy the game.
There's no need to rush up to Commando, from what I hear.

I just learned Novice Commando earlier today with only 20 skill points left.

I'll second the fort tusken idea. I was at about 17k combat xp before i started for commando...went to fort tusken, joined a really good group, and can easily get 40000 xp by a few days straight.

Just make sure you pick another secondary elite prof and go with it.... I started out smuggler myself, but after seeing the updates for the launcher pistol grabbed novice pistoleer.... which I was looking at for smuggler anyways if commando didn't shape up. Pick pistoleer, or TKA or whatever, and get all your combat that way. At least your weapons XP you get when getting the combat won't go to total waste then.

Good place to get xp is on Talus.

Go do Rot Mite destroy missions or just find them in the wild, plenty around. they give off a nice 500-600 xp per kill, fairly easy to kill in a few shots and there's PLENTY of them once you hit the lair just once.

They are BAF, so try not to aggro 8 of them. Otherwise, if you can drop 1 every 2-3 hits you should take them all out and get plenty of xp in no time and no downtime.

what I did to get my combat xp was go to dathomir.

Ppl there eventually want to form hunting parties there, and I joined up....using my marksmen guns. Everything from the baz nitches, rancor's, malkloc's, singing mountain sisters, and spiders were hunted.

If you are in a big enough group, you'll get 10k in about an hour....maybe even more.

I groundout the combat xp on spined snakes on lok mostly, there really easy to kill solo and give anywhere from 80-300 combat xp depending on type (usually about 100, giant spined snakes give 300 but maybe difficult depending on your other skill sets). Also as someone mentioned above langlatches are very easy to and youc an pull missions for them with a little patience at the terminal.

nearly 2 weeks of just taking groups to fort tusken scored me expert/spec on all branches in marksman, master unarmed, and novice commando (along with enough xp to become a TKA and a pistoleer)

I did my final 10k of combat xp on tatooine here's how.. First get some of those grenades that everyone is certified for the light fragmentation grenade. Weaponsmiths can make them at novice.

Second, get a probot or a creature pet (or both doesn't matter really) anything that's not going to kill your target too fast.

Third, find a mutant womp rat lair, go there and pull them with your pet and while they fight your pets (get a good armored probot btw) just chuck grenades till you are blue in the face, Grenades give pure combat xp and then the 10% combat xp as well, so each rat will give you around 400+40 to 550+55 combat xp each, don't shoot them though, just use grenades on them while pet tanks and helps kill.. Also be sure to stand at 10 meters or you won't hit much with the grenades. It doesn't take very long and 440 to 605ish combat xp per kill is a hell of a lot faster on those womp rats (and safer) than the type of kills you'd have to do with standard weapons in the same amount of time to get that much combat xp.
