So I'm a Master Carbineer and thinking of taking Commando as well... but wondering if it really would be of any benefit. Do I get any benefits by taking Commando? I was going for TKM but really I don't care about the "natural" armor thing and I'm not dropping my guns for fists and kicks .

Do the range defense bonuses you get with Commando work even if your not using a heavy weapon and using just a carbine?

I'm trying to figure out with this combo of Master Carbineer and commado would be any good really... Can I combine carbineer specials with Commando weapons... like leg shot and such?

I like the idea of having two different armor certifications especially...

Ive always found Commando/Carbineer to be a bit redundant. Carbineers do AoE attacks, damage AoE cones. Commandos instantly do AoE. I never liked the mix personally.

There are valid reasons why some feel Carbineer is redundant to Commando.

Namely due to Carbineer's area attacks.

Right now, there is absolutely no benefit to using Carbineer's numerous area attacks. The specials do not affect the area they should, i.e. Full Auto Area. FAA has a VERY wide firing arc when using normal ranged weapons, but with a Commando weapon, only attacks the standard target with a mere 6m radius.

There are a few specials from Carbineer that fit nicely:

- Improved Charge Shot, affecting the area of your equipped Commando weapon. An area KD effect, in short.

- Improved Crippling Shot, implemented the same as the above example.

- Improved Leg Shot: Damage special.

Finally, you get certification in the well rounded, well balanced Battle Armors.
