Thread: Heavy Weaponry Tactic DPS does count for us

When you fight with Heavy Weapons, it is very different then fighting with pistols, carbines, or rifles. Since Heavy Weapons are built with high SAC, and the Plasma Flamethrower can not be power upped, your SAC will remain high. This is the tactic to increase your damage output, and in this plan, DPS does matter:

Click CTRL A

Go to Macros

Click New Macro

Type in the following Macro

/attack;

/pause 1; (or 2)

/ui action toolbarSlot07;

this is for the upper F8 slot. you can change the last number, just remember F1 upper is 00, and you are counting left to right. so 11 is F12.

Place this macro is the specified area (for mine, it is F8)

Now when you decide to fight something, you are going to lose your action fast. So after your action passes under 50%, click this macro. This will do a lot of damage as you recover. To do specials through the macro, you may need to hit the attack several times (i.e. if Advanced Critical Shot is in F1, you may need to hit the F1 key 5-6 times). This can be fixed by putting the pause at 2, but slowing your attacks. This is a fast way to deal damage, and recover SAC. VERY few people have been able to kill me with this. Speed makes those attacks faster, so you do massive damage, as well as your specials.

I hope this helps you all. I have done this many times, and it never stops working, unless you mess up.

Yeah, but a macro is faster for me.

The Flaw of your plan with the CTRL Click repeat on Ranged Shot, is when you do other attacks, you cancel that chain of attacks, right? Meaning, each time, you have to click ranged shot again. The macro goes on forever.

If ranged shot is set as default attack it will always attack with that special if no other commands are entered. No need to click on it again. Hence "default attack".

Yes.

At the proper moment, just hit the special you want and it will it will cut into the interval of the default attack. If your default attack has a long cooldown cycle, then expect a delay in your new special before that goes off.

Which is why I prefer having very low level specials as the default attack. There will be very little delay when I want the specific special to hit the target at a precise time.

So if you CTRL Click it, and it auto attacks, it works around your other specials? (I use macros, so I never exprimented with the CTRL click system)

Yes, I don't even use ranged attack macros anymore (I rarely did before the CU).

My typical example currently in SWG:

My Default Attack is Ranged Shot. Very quick, very short cooldown cycle, minimal damage. I let the Ranged Shots go on by itself for roughly 2 attacks, before I decided to fire off Impr.Charge Shot. It cuts in and interrupts the Default Attack cycle to fire off Impr.Charge Shot. I only wanted to get off a single Charge Shot off since it landed on the target. Once the cooldown cycle is complete, Range Shot takes over again until I decide to throw in some other special at a later time.
