Thread: Question on elemental damage

I was wondering why have multiple types of elemental damage if everything has the same resists to all the types? In PVP no one would ever use armor that had specific elemental layers added. From what I understand of the way armor is made, no AS would even make such armor.

And in PVE I have yet to test things out, but are animals/NPCs supposed to have different resists to different types of elemental damage? If that is true, it would be nice if the /EXAMINE window showed this like in the preCU days. Looking through the combat log during high end PVE is not all that easy.

Will the DEVs maybe one day make MOBs have different resists and/or vulnerabilities? Will they one day make the different armor skins vary somewhat in their elemental resists?

Basically what it comes down to for me is that it seems like the DEVs put a ton of working hours into coding elemental damage (and then even more into finally fixing it), but it does not seem like its fully realized. Maybe I missed something from the preCU documents? Maybe I just don't understand elemental damage, but it seems like an overly complex system for very minor damage gains.

They said they would have weaknesses eventually. Maybe next year.

Ah, so there is atleast a plan to make elemental damage make some sense.

That's better than nothing.

Elemental damage is my most valuable asset with rocket launcher, and panic shot.


I even use Elemental Damage PuPs
