Thread: Acid Launcher

I value odd things from time to time.

For one, I like to have the different weapon on the battlefield... I also like the little titles that go with professions.

I'm a master creature handler but have some room for commando. I am planning on either Flame IV (Shock Trooper) or Acid IV (Heavy Infantry).

I prefer the title of Heavy Infantry and think it would be a nice change to use an acid launcher.

I have heard whisper as to the idea that Acid launchers are useless compared to Flame and I'd be a fool to go that path.

This is likely true being that I see so few people using acid launchers (if they are, they're grinding).

I can only afford one line in Commando.

Can any of you tell me about the drawbacks to using Acid over Flame, and whether or not it would be worth my interest?

*giggles like a schoolgirl*

Please for your own sanity pick up FT over HAR, if you insist on taking one of them. The HAR has no DoT, is slower, uses way more HAM and does less damage in general.

Inciently the Acid Launcher is one of our disposable weapons from the Support tree

Well, using the Acid rifle (the acid launcher is a limited use heavy weapon) gives you:
- Lower overall damage
- Slower weapon
- Specials that can't do damage over time (DoT)
- Alot higher HAM cost

If you think all this is acceptable tradeoff, go ahead and use the acid rifle

I don't suppose there's anything in the works for the acid enthusiast?

Acids really should do Damage Over Time. I don't understand how this could not happen.

If I were to put acid on someone it would eat through their armor and eventually kill them if they were not treated.

I love how the description of the acid line gives all sorts of great impressions as to how deadly it is and then it turns out to be the weakest part of the profession (except for maybe grenades).

Well, technically speaking, the acid gets consumed as it eats through stuff, but yeah, if you spray as much as the animation will have you believe, there should be enough to dissolve an entire person
Only the devs know why it wasn't implemented.

Grenn, most of us here are just hoping that there's something in the works for Commando enthusiasts.

Yes. Even if it's just "we didn't feel like it" or "someone told us not to do it" or whatever, they'd know.

I didn't mean to be negative about it, though I admit that my two examples were poorly chosen. I'm sure they have their reasons.

/agree! Poor devs! they're just working like crazy, no time to fix broken professions, we're the defects, why pay attention to us?

What they don't mention is that the acid is vinegar. The only heavy thing about it is that the gun ways a ton.

the sweet aroma of balsamic vinegar lingered in the air after the poor commando's death.
