Thread: I want to be a Commando, but have questions!

I have an alternate toon on Tarquinas server and i have bene toying with the Idea of going commando with some doc, but i wonder if the profession lacks specials, it seems that it is the most broken profession out there, but what i want to know how are you masters dealing with it as far as profession templates. I really have at hing for broken professions, so im interested, plus my toon is a bothan so a commando would be great fun i would think, if anyone has some ideas on how they are making it fun and would like to share with me please do, i would really like to focus on pvp, honest opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You cant be a stand alone commando. You MUST have a second master for specials. if you do, you will be 1v1 pvp god.

well, not sure about other templates, but BH/Commando/0004 pistoleer is a PVP god template (1v1)

what ranged professions specials aid commando the most? specifically rifles, pistols, or carbines, just curious because i would like to integrate Commando and Doc 4004

Okay.. here's my template.
Master Bounty Hunter
Master Commando
Smuggler 4/0/0/0
In the course of a battle I can...
... apply a Fire DoT.
... blind my target.
... apply a Bleed.
... KD my opponent.
... Stun / Dizzy my opponent.
... Score criticals with my Proton Boomstick.
... Root my opponent.
... I forget what Panic Shot actually does.... 
... if all else fails, Last Ditch Proton-goodness.
So... I burn out fast. I have absolutely no healing... that shouldn't be a problem however.. as I should outdamage almost anyone 1 on 1. And Melee... KD / Root / Fire + Bleed ...yeah.. buh-bye.

Aye, I used to have that skillset, it's a definitely a spitfire if you use it right.

That was my template till they made the Concussion Shot break when they are hurt. So now I have 0004 for the defence and root.

No, Master Rifleman/Master Doc/some support is a PvP one on one god template. We can't even get close to that. Our best ability is taking mezzes from smuggler and spreading them like wildfire with the acid stream launcher.

I agree if you go commando do this route , or smugler 4000 for last ditch and some extra speed. Getting a good Plasma is also key.Try getting somthing with 1100+ damage

If I were trying to purely add damage to Commando I'd consider Carbineer x44x. Imp charge shot hits hard and KDs and theline that grants Imp leg shot has a lot of general range accuracy. I don't do too bad with merely Rifleman 4xx4. It gives me imp sniper shot, imp head shot, and advanced aim. You can KD with your rocket launcher, and if that attack happens to be a mez or perhaps delay, you canpower up your accuracy with advanced aim, and then drop down and sniper while they are KDed. I have no problem hitting for around 3.8k vs an even con mob this way. I just found a better rifle so I will do more now.
I love imp concussion shot off a rocket launcher in a party too. I can KD mez potential problem mobsfrom 65m out while the party kills what they wish then moves to the KDed mob waiting on them in mez.

gotta say I'm lovin' commando/smuggler, but I'm far far more group oriented now than ever before. just gotta be careful with those AoEs.
