Thread: AT-ST’s Bugged with Heavy Particle Beam Canno
Ok, I’m a noob Commando (1/1/1/0) so bare with me here... and I know I don’t post often so please don’t ignore this post based on this fact.
I’ve been running level 24 Rebel faction missions and have occasionally been running into a few AT-ST’s as of late. Normally I’ve just been scrubbing these missions but today I decided to see what kind of damage I could do since I recently bought a Heavy Particle Beam Cannon... Let me give a quick description of my weapons and the AT-ST first...
Flame Thrower (speed slice)
AP=none
Type=heat
Min=442
Max=839
Speed=3.5
Heavy Particle Beam Cannon (damage slice)
AP=heavy
Type=energy
Min=2418
Max=3836
Speed=5.1
First attempt on AT-ST
Started attack with /flamesingle1 (2488 heat damage + dot) and got off two normal hits with flamethrower before incapped and deathblowed (909 and 1103 heat damage). Waited for the dot to finish so that I could see what kind of damage I was able to do. AT-ST stats after my first attack: 13708/18003(19617). Total damage dealt with Flame Thrower=5909 and I’m pretty happy with these numbers as a noob.
Second Attempt on AT-ST
Time to try the Heavy Particle Beam Cannon. Got off 1 shot (4761 energy damage) before incap and deathblow. This is where it get’s strange. Since AP=heavy on the beam cannon and the AT-ST resists 70% of energy damage, my calculations show it should have hit for 1428.3. AT-ST stats after second attack 13565/18003(19617). Total damage dealt with Heavy Particle Beam Cannon=143.
So by this calculation, the AT-ST resisted 97% of the damage. I think the dev’s dropped a decimal point by accident. In my instance, instead of (4761 * 30%=1428) they are using (4761 * 3%=142.83 (143)).
Are my calculations off somehow?
Flame Dot means the mobs was takeing Flamce Damage Over Time.
So one someone uses a Flame Singal 1 on a mob it take X amount of Damage. Plus also now has a Flame DOT on it too.
so every few seconds the Mob takes X amount of flame damage. becuase of the DOT that hit it!
That ends the lesson for today.
have a nice day.
Forgot details on the AT-ST

Hm... you're either calculating wrong, reading the health numbers wrong, or far more likely, your particle beam hit on a stat OTHER than health. It's far better to NOT calculate damage by finding out how much everything dropped, but rather looking at the number over the ATST's head.
My money's on you having done in the 900-1300 range of damage but most of that having hit on action or mind.
Just stack flamecone2 and flamesingle2 and you take the at-st down about 1/4 life now,,so go kill it with
whatever you feel like,,it should only have around 5k life left
bigjimmy sunrunner,master commando
15 npc at-st
13 pvp at-st....yes all the imps hate me on this entire server...
I was looking over his shoulder at the time and in this case for certain the health pool was the only one affected and it took 143 dmg which (this would be an amazing coincidence if not a bug) was 3% of the shot vs. the 30% that was expected from a heavy AP weapon.
Both of us are baffled by this. So....how does anyone ever take these down, I mean with what weapons and tactics? Probably should be it's own thread.

I think i've posted this message in the wrong area. My entire point of this thread was to try and get an explanation of why the Heavy Particle Beam Cannon only hit for 3% damage instead of 30%.
I wasn't actually looking for help on how to solo an AT-ST (suicide) and you guys that posted to use /flamecone2 or /flamesingle2 didn't notice I only have /flamesingle1.
