Thread: Just my two cents:
As I read through the posts of "Dabbling", I just wanted to add my two cents. If SWG didn't want dabbling to take place, they would have made you choose a profession and stick with throughout your game play. Much like other game, you have to choose you professions and you can't do any other. Since some of the more elite professions( BH,Commando, BE, CM, etc...)are hibrids, you need a bit of this and a bit of that, so that any one that plays those classes is also a dabbler. With SWG, it gives you a option to do that not many games do, it give you option of choice during your whole game play. You can be both a tank and a support all in one. There are not many players in the game that can say that they are just one field and this is it. If there is, my hat is off to you, but where are you going to use your remaining points.
I admit that I am a dabbler because it suits my style of play. Now if medic's and CH's want to flame me for it, so be it. I don't really care. If SOE changes that, then I will have to change my playing style. There is really no way to stop this from happening, so why don't you just deal with it and move on.
What my point is, if SOE changed it so that you have to choice one class and stick to it throught the whole game play, what would make it different from any other game that is out there now. Are you going to play it for just the StarWars name, or are you going to play it because of the options you have and special templates that you can come up with. Dabbling is part of this game, and most likely here to stay. If you really can't deal with that, then find a new game.
