Thread: Commando Weapon Attributes
Could someone post what the different Commando weapons AND their special attacks actually do. I see alot of posts about how the Flame Thrower is great (DOT) and the Acid Rifle is not, but not much good information about anything else.
Thanks,
There are only 2 trees that actually give specials.
Flamthrower Tree and Heavy Acid Rifle Tree
The flamethrower is more accurate, and has 4 DoT attacks
The HAR is identical to the flamethrower less the acuracy and DoT attacks, the format of the speacials are identical
SingletargetMove1
ConeMove1
SingleTargetMove2
ConeMove2
Each has all 4 of them, and the FT is deffinatly more powerful than the HAR.
The Specs for the HAR suggest it should be as good or better than the FT, but i have concluded that the HAR's Skill Mods are not working!!
my HAR has 4sec reload, my is FT 4.9sec andreloads faster, figure that out. also the har's accuracy doesnt improve as you go up the tree (i am master commando and couldnt hit the planet surface im standing on with the HAR).
I think the HAR is also supposed to have DOT, its is acid after all, and would remain on the target burning them for some time.
The HAR specials also use a suicidal amount of HAM, so the weapon is currently only good for destroying mission targets.
The FT is pretty good, although accuracy is still lacking atm.
The HAR's on my server are all slowe and do less damage (a lower min damage and a lower max damage) than flamethrowers.
So combine that withthe same AP (0) and I'm not sure why they would ever be superior (unless facing a creature with 100% heat resists) (and even then the flame DoT is likely better than the acid).
I'd guess if the devs ever checked, they'd see every commando buys one HAR at novice and never, ever, buys a second. Of course, if the devs ever saw that, they'd likely respond by reducing the amount of resources it takes to make a HAR, or some similarly ineffective "fix". Then they'd eat another banana.
Rockets are great on targets with resist to blast. Otherwise they suck.
