Thread: While we fight for commando, does anyone see hope?

Not just getting stuff fixed, but having our skill investment represented in ability. Will it ever be worth spending the 169 points in one professsion opposed to spending 169 in a couple.


I am at a fork in the road. One direction I practice the profession I will always fight for, the other is to realize commando skills may never be worth what I invested but I will always fight for it.


The sad fact is not only does commando not seem to justify the investment, but it doesnt even seem to match professions of much lighter investment. I feel the same way for the BH community. Hybrids seem to be forsaken to skill dump without compensation, nor even be put on level grounds with others. It would seem to me that they dont know how to deal with either hybrids. (lets not get into CMs here ok?)

My toon is in the middle of coronet as we speak meditating as I am doing the same, in a sense, looking for direction. I reach to my commando brethern for words of insight.

Man I really don't know. I wish I or someone else had the answers. I WANT to believe that it will get better, and that we will be the "bringers of BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!


But that is not up to me, and with the most recent anouncement from SOE, it looks like any combat balance will not happen until a full year after this game has been out. And even after this so called "Comabt Balance" happens, I have my doubts about it really baing something positive. So far it seems like it is just a tactic to keep us WAITING. It it is difficult to wait after you've paid $50-80 on the game purchase, and another $150, or so, on the monthly fee. That's $200 plus, for a game that is "broken", in many respects.


I truly hope it gets better. That is why I am still here. From day one, I was on my way to being a Master Commando, and since I have reached it, I have never dropped it, in hopes of better days to come. SO far that day has not come.


If you want to have fun, and you are not with the commando profession at it is now, then maybe you should drop it, for a while, and go have fun. Then when, and if ever, it is fixed, come back to it.


I do not think that the commando profession will get much attention for a while. I hope I am wrong, but it does not look like it. There is too much at stake for SOE with the SPace Expansion to actually do something about many professions at the moment.


The only way for them to actually do something would for all of us to completely drop commando, I mean everyone, and i don't think that will happen. . . .

i wuld say proply no unti the space expashion


right now were in beta but once space expanshion comes we might actuly see some fixes

Yeah, I figure I am caped on HW XP so if they ever fix it, I could come back rather easily by just geting the FT tree done right away. unless they do a total revamp eventually to where that wont work as well, but then, going through a grind all over again just might be totally worth the effort.


My pestamistic view of the space expansion, while I think it will be cool, is that it to will be broken from day one and they will be fixing it for a year. If anything, they need to fix this core system befor worrying about getting the space out ad make sure that is working after that.


Im as excited about the space expansion as anyone could be but I dont want a broken game to stay broken and get more broken.


Maddogs, you dropped commando befor right? Did you enjoy doing other things or did you miss commando the whole time?

i love commando the most becous it is the profesion that reaches me becous i love solders and basic traing and when i think of commando i think back of thos days spent in basic


but as for most fun i say i had fun when i was a riflemen and killed every thing in 4 shots with out geting argoed flet like a sniper it was cool


when i ws a command almost the only master commnado on my sever when we first got fixed runing around with a master bh and his llc makeing a nusions of my self in pvp


when i was a tk and whent up agenst a othere master tk player and had a true duel (tho it was close i lost but it was fun 200 ham away form victory)


when i was master swords mentk fencer raining down tare in theeds soloing atsts


when i was master pistler runing around like a chicken shoting and runing like hell from a master tk


when i was master carb contnuiously spaming charg shot and luaghing my hed off at the animation and the poor guy pined to the ground


when i was a mster pikemen and kd dizzyed 5 storrmys at once and beet them to death


when i was bh and i beet a master tk that was bufed for 4k ham using my carb then my pistol then to my llc


ya i miss commando becous its my true calling but like iv stated befor i wish they make it a commando ensted of a one tick pony


and when iv seen and masterd all the profesions ill come back to commando and once agen stand prode as a master commando even if my wepons cant kill any thing i still love the profesion
