Thread: My Template FYI

My final respec was to commando, it's just too much fun burning things up. Here is what I went with, and the pros/cons of the template

Master Commando / Master Pistoleer / Smuggler 0030 / Rifleman 4000

Pro's
Area states galore with my Plasma Flame thrower. Concussion, Low Blow and Intimidate are best with the area abilities of the flamer.

Rifle 4000 adds a lot to accuracy, and Headshot and Snipershot give me the added damage dealing that most commando templates lack. Very happy with this.

Pistoleer adds useful states like intimdiate/stun/root, keeps defense up, and provides a great fall back profession to add diversity to gameplay. (get the supressor pistol and you'll have a blast, it looks like force lightning)

Smuggler 0030 gets you Concussion, Feign Death and Low Blow, all of which are very useful in group play. Being able to use area low blow slows a whole mobs' attack rate drasticly.

Defense is great for ranged, second to BH with Duelist stance of course, Melee 240, ranged 200, add BE clothing and food and you're golden. I think it's been shown over 250 isn't any more effective than 250.

Accuracy is great, base +225 plus Commando makes +280, plus crispic makes +345.

Con's
Area attacks are fun, but you have to be really careful and take into account terrain and mob distance or you're just going to aggro everything and get you and your group wiped out.

Lack of healing always hurts me, I'm use to having CM or Doc in my template. I went and got some nice Stim-D's and Ruby Bliel (to reduce stim timer) and this seems to be working for me now. That and feign death...

Ideas and comments are welcome, hopefully someone else will find this as useful a template as I do!

My template is almost exactly the same, except instead of Rifleman I took Carbineer 0/4/0/0 - Legshot seems to do a ton of damage, more than I found with other profs.

Headshot and snipershot have the highest multiplier to my knowledge, and both have get you the same (within 5) accuracy and defense.

If headshot and legshot are even, I like having the additional snipershot in this case.

I experienced the same thing, but it was because a CSR extended my time... just be careful, because the warning message doesn't look all that different than the normal respec notice.

Do you have to be prone to do snipershot? If so then that's why I didn't like it. I could never see my target it was annoying. I was rifleman for a day so I could be wrong about being better than headshot, but it seemed pretty good.

I think some of the LOS bugs have been fixed, I haven't had an issue seeing my target. Yes you have to be prone, but with my Plasma FT, I can hit for 3000 with it. 1700 or so in PvP. Then of course subtract armor.

The nice thing about it is this: because there are no accuracy modifiers for distance, you can be right up against your target and prone, and you may as well be standing, there's not a higher chance to miss or anything.
