OK, I've posted about this before, but things get lost in the forums and I really think this needs visibility. If you're a Commando with some SL could you try using your steady aim special and then try switching weapons? What you'll probably notice is that you can't until the cooldown timer for steady aim recycles. Now, since a commando's weapons are supposed to be his specials do you see the problem here? It's like this for any special, you can't switch weapons until the cooldown timer for your last action is over. It's just really noticeable with specials with long cooldown timers like steady aim. I know I'm new to the forums, but I've played for a while and have been reading the forums for a while. It's just that no one seems to have posted about this or thought it a big enough issue to post about. I hate sounding like a broken record, but could we possibly change it so switching weapons is not dependant on cool down timers, maybe give it it's own timer?

maybe it's the title oh well, here's another bump. I wonder if they'll ban me from the forums for this one.

I haven't noticed there being a specific delay in switching weapons, but in any case, you can fire off Steady Aim regardless of the weapon you're holding, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't just equip the weapon first...

Maybe it's just me then. My point was that other profs can use specials on different timers so they don't have to wait for the first special to finish cycling before using another. Since our weapons are currently our specials you'd think we could switch them and use them before the timer on the first special finished cycling. As it is now, I can't seem to be able to do this. Here's an example. I shoot off a rocket with advanced confusion shot to KD and hopefully add states to my target. I press the hotkey I have set up to switch to the ASL and then hit my advanced critical shot hotkey. What happens though is if I press keys too fast I end up doing an Advanced Critical Shot with the RL. The reason is that I never switched to the ASL b/c I hit the key before the timer for confusion shot finished cycling. Then when I hit the advanced critical shot it overwrote my action to switch weapons just like it would any special in the combat qeue. This is of course more noticeable with specials that have a long cooldown timer like steady aim. Another one that might be good to try this on is stopping shot since it has a long cooldown or nutrient injection from doc. Thanks for the reply though, this has been bugging me for a while.

i would assume you could, i know i'm a MBH, MCommando, 4000Smuggler and i can unequip usecenter of being, equip, and use duelist stance for a 410.00 point defense mod
I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to switch up after using a command from another prof.

I am a Master Commando / Master Squad Leader.
I don't use steady aim a lot, but I do use volleyfire as fast as it'll let me.
With volleyfire, I have no problems changing weapons during the fairly long cool-down period.
I will try it with steady aim next time I'm in game though.

Thanks, I just want to know if I'm going crazy. Which isn't hard for a Commando to do in this game.
