Alright i needa straight answer. Right now i have all the marksman skills, am expert unarmed, and working for unarmed specialist. What have you commandos done to get novice commando? I need ideas on getting unarmed experience, getting combat experience, and what skills i should learn along with the commando skills. (I was thinking pistoleer and smugglers' dirty fighting skills, but i want to hear some other opinions). Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

i did all my unarmed exp with out vibro knuckles and solo, corellia is probably the best place to fight as durni, paralope, vynock and the like will easily and quickly take you to unarmed expert, after that crazed durni and tabbage are nice. i would also suggest picking up novice medic and buying some well made stim b's in the bazaar(something with a base heal of 120 or more). And the final tatic is to equip a pistol and use healthshot to make them bleed then switch to unarmed, you wont get any pistol exp but the bleeding will kill the much faster than you can, and if you have novice pistoleer healthshot 1 and 2 stack for a lot of bleeding. it took me about 5 days to get all of carbine all of rifle and all of unarmed so its not too bad.

I'm not there yet, but I have raked in a load of combat experience by trading in my faction points. No point in buying pistol, rifle, carbine, unarmed, etc.. because they go up pretty quickly with the grind, but since you only get 10% from combat, trading in all the FPs I can for combat xp is helping a ton. Especially if you get good weapons and can chew through the missions quickly.

I'm in the same boat. The intermediate and advanced unarmed were fairly easy.

However, I spent the WHOLE weekend trying to get expert and specialist. I did get expert, and I did get about 40k out of 70k in specialist. So I'm happy to be almost done with it.. but seriously, it took me all weekend. Of course, I'd occasionally get bored and wander off to shoot something. Two problems, mostly associated with no knucklers.

1.) In a group, I don't do enough damage to get more then 200 exp or so. Not unless they help me out by letting me solo something tough while healing me.

2.) Soloing, I can usually only kill about 3 or 4 things for 100 exp before sitting a resting a while.

I did find that nightspiders(name?) give about 120-150 a piece and I can kill about 8 of em before needing a rest. But that means I've got to run inbetween town and two missions a little more then 35 times to get specialist. I haven't found a better option yet besides someone sitting there and healing me againist tough mobs that don't hit mind often. Please post your suggestions.

well if you have the money get novice medic and buy stim b's in the bazaar they arnt that expensive and heal nicly(average about 3-400 a heal) and that will reduce downtime a lot, also i forgot to add buy ubese jacket and ubese legs i found some that were 25% kinetic and only 100 health, 20 action, 20 mind for jacket and 20 health 100 action, 20 mind for pants.

I'll repost how I did it...

first off... health-shot1, Action-shot1, and mind-shot1 are your friends,
as are crazed durnis and rogue bagerasets.

use one health shot (or whichever you prefer) on it... wait till it gets hurt and comes after you.. if it's a durni, hit once or twice.. and then stay out of it's reach (you're faster than it, make it go in circles) .. it dies.. and gives you (if you're working on IV) 321 unarmed xp.

... rogue bagerasets (RBs) are a bit tougher.. You might want to have pharmacology I and a lot of stim-Bs, for emergencies.

same thing.. health-shot... then blind, stun and intimidate (the scout's wire-mesh trap is also very good, as it lowers the beast's melee defense).

RBs are a lot less frequent than Durni's... but they'll give you 591 unarmed XP when you down it.

I was lucky to find a spawn point that stayed up for over two hours yesterday.. and now I don't have to use unarmed ever again (unless I want to go for TKA, which I don't at this time).

cheers,
- Eleriel.

Sounds like a really good idead LBC69!

I just have novice medic.. so I usually sit it out while I regen. I think I will rank up medic temporarily and get stimpacks to help out. At least until I get unarmed specialist. Then I'll keep it until I need to drop it to continue on commando...

Nice Eleriel! I'll try it tonight!

What gun you use? My gun might kill it in or two shots.

I use a FWG5 pistol (also have a spraystick and an EE3 carbine (both seemingly made by God him/herself if DPS is any indication) ...

crazed durni's are all over the place, really.
but usually you'll find them no closer than 1km from a city.

... as for killing them in one two shots...
well, just use health-shot, it doesn't deal any damage per se... you'll figure it out. =^_^=
