Thread: Interview with Raph Koster at UGO.com
So i was reading through this, thinking I might catch a bit of info on things to come...
When i stumbled upon this part of the article.
"RK: ... But when you're talking Squad Leaders or Commandos, there is one Master Commando in the entire game right now. One!
UGO: Isn't Master Commando the class where you get to wield flame throwers and rocket lauchers?
RK: Yeah.
UGO: You'd think more people would be interested in that.
RK: [laughs] Well, it's hard, is what it is. So there's a definitely curve to see which professions have Masters and which don't."
Dont know about the rest of you but Raph's comment here and seeming "attitude" bother me quitea bit. Shouldnt a proper response have been
RK: Well you see, Mr. UGO interviewer, Commando is one of the many (and problably most) broken classes in the game right now. So while players would LIKE to become Master Commandos, its just not really something thats realistically possible right now. At least, not until we admit there is a problem and commit the time and effort into fixing it. Instead, however, Im just going to [laughs] laugh about it and say "Well, getting to a Master level is hard".
Sorry, its attitudes like this and blantant avoiding the TRUTH that are causing so many people to get upset over things like this.
If you are a Commando, I couldnt imagine you not being upset by this part of the article. Read the rest here

His response should have been: Well, we are surprised by it. We're looking into the issues.
But, what we did learn is that the Commando is intended to be a hard class to learn. One Master Commando isn't a surprise to him: he expected it. The problem isn't that there's one, it's that because this is as expected, the roadblocks in the class are working properly.
It explains why we've had such a problem getting the problems addressed. Advancing in Commando is supposed to be restricted, the problem is that it's the wrong things restricting us.
They've got the correct results, but not the correct method fo getting there.
