Thread: Q:In the offical StarWars Weapon book, it says the T21 is Handheld and mounted on tripod.
But...
It also is used with a tripod which makes is very fast and more damaging because they can feed it more power through the Tripod system.
"In the movie you say the imperials trying to set on up when Solo was entering the Falcon." The built in Falcon laser shot the imperials before they got it setup."
NOW:
The Tripod would be very cool. Takes time to set it up. but improves the damage and speed.
Q: Should it be a commando or rifleman add-on.
"im a rifleman" but a mounted t21 would be a heavy weapon for sure. So, Im leaning toward a commando."
anyway it would be very cool addition.

The addition of a tripod will make the T21 into a heavy weapon, increading speed but drastically decreasing accuracy. As well as making the Mounted T21 rifle into a completely new rifle for commandos. Giving us a stationary chain gun
Tortza
actually, what the snowtroopers were trying to set up was an E-WEB blaster, not a T21. the eweb most resembles a vulcan chain gun. thats prolly whay lucas used for the base construction of it.
the T21 is as we see it, a rifle, but what i dont get is this, a rifle as long as a man with no stock.......**edit** lol
I think it would be great. an add-on stationary tripod allows the commando to utilize the true power of the t21.
Just one problem with that theory. Tripods increase accuracy. Tripods stablize the gun so when you are firing the recoil is lessened and is easier to control. Firing rate also sees a small increase do to the fact that you don't have as much recoil so re-aquiring your target takes less time so you can fire again. The only downside is that you only have about a 120° or so firing cone before you have to physically move from your current spot. So if you are pointing straight ahead you would have to get up and move to aim at a target directly to your sides, or behind you.
(similar to deployinga heavy suit in Planetside, firing rate goes up, but you can only fire pretty much straight ahead and cannot move while deployed)
The weapon the stormtroopers were setting up on Hoth in ESB is called an "E-web" and is much more like a gatling gun than a precision aimed rifle. I never read anything in the EU that mentioned any weapon like a T21 by name or design.
I'm not putting down your tripod idea, but the kind of tripod used in ESB was for a heavy weapon and was used while standing. A tripod (or really, a bipod) like many heavy machine guns in WWII used would not be a bad addition as a to hit bonus, though I'm sure Sony would much rather work on its pet Pistoleer class before even thinking about considering anything new for a rifle. We'll see twirly effects and holsters first, I'm sure.
